@Leander2017719 @posionjoel this doesn’t even begin to challenge my argument econ footprint marketing narrative are irrelevant to the definition of a word you imbecile

@monarrchh @posionjoel Ah, yes, because an indie shop adjusting strawberry purée levels is exactly the same scale, econ footprint, & marketing narrative as launching a commercial brand targeted at mass cultural consumption.

@Leander2017719 @posionjoel Lollll the definition is the same in both contexts it just means that to develop a recipe is to change either the cooking process or cooking time or the ratios of the ingredients or the ingredients themselves you really are hilariously dumb

@monarrchh @posionjoel Gold star for knowing that words can have multiple definitions. Unfortunately, using a generic dictionary definition to mask a complete lack of understanding regarding corporate commercialization vs. home cooking is a massive L. Thanks for playing, though. Think monkey, think.

@monarrchh @posionjoel Imagine telling someone to concede ignorance while completely failing to differentiate between a home cook tweaking a family dinner & a commercial entity scaling a product for mass market distribution. It's adorable. 😂

@Leander2017719 @posionjoel Ur the one attempting to re write the definitions lol if someone develops a strawberry ice cream recipe for their ice cream parlour that doesn’t have to involve any big change they would just make it to their preference texture intensity colour etc and that’s developing a recipe

@monarrchh @posionjoel The only thing being HONED here is your desperate need to rewrite industry definitions just to feel right on X. Go tell a food scientist that their entire career just means HONING RATIOS and see how fast you get laughed out of the room. We're done here. 😘😘😘

@Leander2017719 @posionjoel I’m sorry you take issue with what the actual meaning of development is in this context but that’s your problem. Developing doesn’t mean what you think it does it just means to hone ratios in this context. You didn’t know that (okay) just concede your ignorance and move on.

@monarrchh @posionjoel Honing ratios in a home kitchen is basic cooking; DEVELOPING a product for the market implies adding unique culinary value or innovation. If copying a traditional formula and scaling the logistics is all it takes to claim development, then the bar is truly on the floor.

@Leander2017719 @posionjoel you fail to grasp the exceedingly simple use of the word develop in the context of a recipe. to develop a recipe is to hone the ratios OR to substitute ingredients. When some italian grandma has her own spaghetti recipe that she developed it isnt implied that she invented it.

@posionjoel I don't give a damn about that. In the end, he didn't do anything original, new, or anything substantial enough to qualify as "developed" by culinary standards. Please teach me more about food science, because I might have been sleeping when I took the elective course.😄

THIS. PEOPLE ARE NOT ANGRY AT HIM FOR MAKING IT. PEOPLE ARE POINTING OUT THAT YOU CANNOT CLAIM YOU DEVELOPED SOMETHING THAT ORIGINALLY EXISTS AS ITS NORM. He said he made it vegan but it is already vegan in the first place. By saying he developed it, he is still reclaiming it
( ˙ᴥ˙ )ꕤ@grvsnivis

The way he even worded it made it sound like he's championing a unique way to enjoy ube ice cream during AAPI month. That's EXACTLY how gentrification works and they're gaslighting us for it.

the white man getting defensive vs filipinos calling out that he didnt credit filipinos he worked w/ in the process of developing an ube sorbetes recipe is annoying enough on its own but what's more annoying is non-filipinos trying to gaslight us against making valid critiques 😭

@Jilted_Love @mundanenpc @tachycardial The point is they would be wrong to do it. you misunderstand what culture is and what it means to take from a culture. every time a filipino person makes ice cream they arent appropriating anything just because ice cream isnt filipino. making food isnt stealing.

@monarrchh @mundanenpc @tachycardial They could do that, we don't care lmao. We wouldn't treat them like they're reacting wrong or that their English skills are wrong. This is just how people naturally react about their culture being taken and changed in other countries. We already know they don't like our spag.

@Jilted_Love @mundanenpc @tachycardial you need to be told or else you'll continue believing this delusion insisting using a flavour that people use in another country is offensive is INSANE it doesnt matter that ur filipino. Could you imagine if italian people kicked up a fuss about a filipino person making spaghetti

@Jilted_Love @mundanenpc @tachycardial A) You did misinterpret it. B) The first tweet is not offensive because nowhere did he rebrand filipino culture he just has an ube flavour at his ice cream parlour now. C) You are wrong and its not because you are filipino its because you lack adequate proficiency in english.

@Jilted_Love @mundanenpc @tachycardial how aggrogant do you have to be to sit here and INSIST to NATIVE english speakers that your proficiency is up to par when this whole debacle stems from the complete misinterpretation of an exceedingly simple term.
