@mongi_writes Criticising outsiders is fair, but claiming people “obviously” support a leader misunderstands politics. Rwanda has real development gains , but also widely noted limits on opposition space (HRW, Amnesty). Support and constraint can both exist, don’t oversimplify either way.

Random rant but this almost always comes up when I meet “foreigners”….Honestly I really have no patience for people that try and frame a suspicion that Rwandans “can’t actually like their President that much” because they can’t relate to having ever even tolerated their own leadership.
