@Sassafrass_84 @Ollia_ll they are planning to stop feeding him. to stop nourishing his body. they will pump him full of pain killers and let him waste away. this is how hospice for these types of patients works. it is inhumane and it shows a complete disregard for human life. i have seen this play out.

@ZubyMusic it is an almost constant inner monologue for me. the holy spirit constantly guides me. it’s like a game of hot and cold. lots of times listening and understanding what is being conveyed is painful. but absolutely worth it. i sleep well knowing i am not alone.

When I was growing up, I thought Christianity was the 'easy' religion because it doesn't mandate fasting, have explicit dietary requirements, require a certain amount of prayers per day, etc. Over time, I've learned that consistently walking with Christ is difficult. The bar is much higher than modern norms and cultural standards.

@data_republican @SenWarren right!?! how much do those companies spend in payroll taxes? local and state taxes? taxes on items they need to operate the business? how many jobs do they create and fund? one could call it ignorance…but she knows she is leaving out parts to make a point to the uneducated.

If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than: Tesla Southwest Disney Live Nation HP United PayPal CVS Health Palantir Citigroup PG&E 3M That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax. It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.

@monsterwhite512 @walterkirn @amandafortini You don't have to use Ai to write it, but Ai can be a fantastic helper. Well, Grok. Grok is a good helper. Can't say as much about the rest. Ai can give you structural advice, correct errors, and tips while you are still the original author and they are your words plugged in.

Been giving her 90+ lb body all this food and wondering where it's all going! In the toilet, that's where. Praying we finally have this figured out. She said I figure out and fix things that her doctor never did. It's too bad I can't make money like a doctor 🤷‍♀️

my husband and i used to cancel each other out during every election. i was extremely liberal but then i became a mother and a business owner. it is plain as black and white to me now…it is a victim vs warrior mentality. no party is perfect just like no person is perfect. but i consider myself a conservative to my core now.

When I was a teen and young adult, I thought I was liberal. I was surrounded by liberal friends, my ex and his family were liberal, and I didn't really understand politics. I used to think conservatives were racist and didn't care about people who were low-income or struggling. Then I became friends with some and began talking more with family who are conservative. I was very open about my views saying that I felt I was a liberal, but didn't really know what that meant. Some of them would have an open honest discussion, but never try to change my views or tell me I was wrong or ignorant. They accepted me for me. I compared their views and actions to the views and actions of the liberals I knew. My conservative friends work hard, take good care of their family, never take handouts, and would give you the shirt off their back. The liberals in my life always complained about not getting enough. Some of them worked but would turn down promotions because a raise in pay meant less money they'd get back on taxes or they wouldn't qualify for government programs anymore. Some of them didn't work at all. They expected the government to provide. They'd take a handout before a handup. They were the last person to offer help with anything. Claiming that conservatives or white people were racist was something I heard regularly. I began comparing everyone's views to my own life. It was eye-opening. I have always valued hard work. I have always supported a handup, not a handout. I have always wanted to enjoy the benefits of my own work without it being taken from me for people who can work but don't want to. Then I realized, I too was conservative. When I realized I had been conservative all those years and I began being open about my views, the liberals in my life were offended. They couldn't have an open discussion without getting angry or trying to bully me into submission. They never tried to see my point of view and they acted like theirs is right and I'm ignorant. I even had some claim that I was racist. I was talking with my uncle about all of this, and he said: "Most young people are liberal until they grow up and get a real job."

my dad was on basal insulin and meal insulin and he kept dipping into the 60-70s at night so, we dropped his units by 5 after every night he dipped. that did the trick until he was off it completely. his doctor concurred. also, my dad quickly got off the meal/fast acting as soon as we cut the carbs and sugar out of his meals. it definitely seems like her pancreas is waking up! and what she is doing IS working!!! God is good!!!

Day 29 Fasting glucose - 94 Her glucose dropped to the 60s around 2300 last night and was continuing to trend downward. The alarm went off on my phone and woke me up. She was already in the kitchen getting something to eat to bring it up. I keep one small container of chocolate syrup in my pantry for emergencies when her glucose drops too low. We've had a long discussion that it's only for emergency low blood sugars, and she's been doing a good job of staying away from it. When her glucose was getting too low, she had a glass of milk with about 2tbsp of syrup, and by 0100, it brought her sugar up to the 180s. By 0600, it was back down to the 130s. By breakfast at 0830, it was 94. For breakfast, I made her some scrambled eggs with melted cheese and a grilled hot link. It looks like I might be decreasing her basal insulin. Her PCP has ordered 20u twice per day, but I've done 15u twice per day, and sometimes I only do 15u once a day. I use my nursing judgment and her PCP supports that. Her sugars are already moving in the right direction, and I can't wait to see what her next A1C is. I went to the grocery store early this morning to pick up some stuff she had on a list. Eggs, cottage cheese, cream cheese, hot links, asparagus, chickpea or spinach noodles, spinach, and lettuce. We already have plenty of meat in the house, and we're going through eggs fast. She wants to make wraps using lettuce as the bun. She likes to have asparagus grilled with butter and salt as a side for her dinner. She wants to try a little low-carb veggie-based pasta with a salad and see if it'll affect her sugar. I have a pasta attachment for my KitchenAid that my son uses to make homemade noodles once a month or so. I told her we could use her spinach, egg, and a little flour to make a homemade pasta. She wants to make pancakes using cream cheese and eggs. She found a recipe for a chocolate dessert using cottage cheese and an egg. She still has chocolate cravings but she's trying to do the best she can and find things that she can use to test her blood sugar to see what spikes it and what doesn't. Foods that don't spike it, she's saving in a little recipe book. She knows that eventually, I won't be helping her with this. It'll all be on her. So she's learning through me, and trying to incorporate it into her life. I'm carnivore and so is my hubby. I wasn't even on the brink of death, or even close to death, and I went straight carnivore. She was on the brink of death and still doesn't really want to be a strict carnivore. She likes her vegetables, and she still likes chocolate. She'd rather stick with more of a keto diet. I've educated her on the oxalates in things like spinach, the phytic acids in beans and oats, etc. So she tries to limit those things even though she likes them. And I'm okay with that. It's MUCH better than how she was eating. I almost bet that over time, she'll slowly become more carnivore than keto. She'll start to notice she's spending a lot of money buying fresh produce and a lot of time making meals and snacks. It gets expensive and tiring. So, I support how she's trying to eat even if it isn't exactly how I would like her to eat. I just give her my love and understanding ❤️ I ordered her a bathing suit so we can hit the pool soon. Can't wait! One day at a time. 🙏 Here's the recipe for the cottage cheese chocolate lava cake ⬇️

9 of the 12 avocado chocolate muffins that she made yesterday are now gone. She definitely likes them. 9 makes a total of about: - 2.5 avocados - 4.5 eggs - 1/2c cocoa powder - 1/2c monk fruit Each muffin is: - 9g carbs (the avocado, cocoa powder, & monk fruit) - 16g fat - 5g protein - 190 calories We've been watching her blood sugar after each time she eats a couple of them, and we haven't seen it increase. I'd say she found a good recipe to help with her chocolate fix.

definitely a tough conversation. just had the same with my dad. 77 years old. he had a diabetic episode - undiagnosed diabetes had him the hospital in september 2025 losing his eyesight and brain bleeds (caa). his fasted glucose 300+. his a1c was off the charts at over 13. i had the same conversation with him. you can eat what you want and be on insulin for the rest of your life. it will be a miserable life of endless dr appointments and you could permanently lose your eyesight. or you can drop the carbs and sugar and get your life back. he chose life too. five months later his a1c is 6.5 and continues to improve every month! i couldn’t be more proud of him. he has slipped a few times and he told me that he didn’t want me to be mad at him. i tell him that i will never be mad at him. carbs and sugar are an addiction…but i appreciate him trying. i want him with me for as long as possible and anything that will make that happen has my vote. but ultimately they have to want it or it won’t work. all we can do is be an example and educate.

I told her that she doesn't have to be here. She can go back to where she was living, back to eating whatever she wants, and watch herself slip away. Or she can stay with me, deal with me being in control over her health, and watch herself get better. She chooses life ❤️
