Also Day1 balance is gonna be.. interesting. We've never shipped 60 new champs and this many systems updates so if you want to see the Wild West of Rift before we start balancing hop in on launch :D We have no idea what's gonna be busted OP and I'm so here for it.

@RiotFeralPony after playing 51 games I think day 1 is going to be really well balanced. I hope the game stays feeling like this because every game feels close now that matchmaking is better (I don't know if it was changed but last 2 days feels way better with less newbies in lobbies)

@RiotHeckler I suppose a third thing would be matchmaking. I feel like half my team mates have 1k games a year on league the other half are freshly birthed into the world and decide full ap blitz with no sighstone is optimal. but I guess that's a result of PBE vs live matchmaking

@Wingsofdeathx So right now could be just "lets see if people play and stick around". Although I'd argue it's counterproductive because if features are missing people might not play for that reason alone

@Wingsofdeathx I'd like think in good faith that this is a temporary plan, with ranked being in the works for next szn. Right now they've put a lot of work into something that could flop on paper so maybe they went for the lowest cost options

Why does riot insist on making all of these weird ass decisions that will hurt classic?
Are they afraid that if they made a ranked queue with the old ELO system without role queue, hidden mmr, aegis etc. people would see how bad their current ranked system is?

League Classic will only be available in PvP draft queues, Co-op vs. AI, and custom games. There will NOT be a Ranked queue, instead primary progression will be from the Summoner's Journey. Starting from Classic level 10, you can progress from Salt to Wood, all the way to Legend

@drewlevin as somebody who has read up on the subject from FIDE's introduction of arpad elo's rating system, thru to modern engagement and trueskill based systems I can thoroughly say I have no clue anymore. It's an infinitely deep well of potential solutions and my head hurts
