@Cool_Island Yes! It is all of those things and more. We in the horror community are just tired of critics struggling w/ “liking” a horror film, so they have to label it something else. Because horror can never be considered high art.

@Hoppalicious Wouldn’t it have been awesome for Sally to win without having said a word of dialogue? That’s how nuanced her performance was! Still, I do love Frances too.

I’m not someone who brags about skipping most of the Oscars, but learning that they didn’t recognize Tobe Hooper in the In Memoriam makes me glad I didn’t see most of this year’s show. A great filmmaker continues to be disrespected even after he’s gone.

@MrGoodtimes11 @AdamR38 @patrickbromley Paxton was featured in last year’s In Memoriam at the Oscars since he died right before the ceremony. But in that case, why couldn’t they add Mahoney to this year’s? That plus Hooper’s absence... Such a shame.

@birdiebar Soooo happy he got his Oscars! Not only was it deserved for that film, but he’s such a sweet and profoundly gifted man. It was a pleasure to see him win.

@Hoppalicious You got your wish! Yes, I was really excited to be rooting for not only what I thought was an excellent movie, but also what the film meant to our community (indie! horror! representation! etc!) Just happy for Peele all around.

@Hoppalicious I’ve seen similar criticism on the film since it came out, but it just worked for me. And, I’m sure if we dug deeper we’d find PLENTY of movies we disagree on, haha.

@INNSMOUTHxSHADE @tomlarmstrong76 I do. I’m especially rooting for it in the screenplay category, even though I enjoyed most of the other nominees as well.

@tomlarmstrong76 It’s horror and it’s GREAT. The sooner the world accepts that, the better!

I’ve seen a lot of hateful criticism directed at GET OUT leading up to tonight’s #Oscars. I’m ignoring it all. I’m going to be in my living room, front and center at the tv, rooting my damn heart out for this movie.

@linnieloowho This is perfect. Although I wouldn’t mind if Frances won, because Frances.
