@niccruzpatane @niccruzpatane totally get the point, but have you ever accidentally disengaged autopilot? I have and it you do so when going around a corner, the car has tendency to want to straighten out...

Elon Musk confirmed via Telemetry Data that the woman driving the Cybertruck in this video disengaged the system four seconds before the crash. She was manually driving throughout this entire video. Don't believe everything you see/hear from Legacy Media about Tesla.

@ashleevance But what would we watch on TV then? Jokes aside, if demand decreases, maybe prices do as well to meet demand, and help to rebalance healthcare since we don’t need to foot the bill for the ads?

@SawyerMerritt If you were low on gas, how far could you get without a gas station? Ever tried to fill up at one when you were low only to find out that for some reason the pumps were down....

Former Goldman Sachs CEO tonight on EVs with Bill Maher: Bill: "Once you have one (EV) it seems barbaric to go to a gas station." Lloyd: "I want to get into a car, know I can drive 300 miles and don't have to have my fingers crossed that I can recharge it and don't have it take 2 hours." Bill: "Lloyd, mine goes 360 (miles)."

There is now ~100 TB of imagery as fine as 4cm of Quebec making its way to S3. One of these images is to the left and for comparison, Google Map's image of the same location to the right.

Well @elonmusk and @Starlink screwing everyone on GA pricing (again). The constant plan changes have to stop. If you want to charge infinite money for something people are willing to pay $100-$200/mo for, fine, but you can’t bait and switch people like this.

This car salesman says Tesla keycards are stupid and inconvenient and prefers a traditional key but has no idea you can use your phone as the key. Maybe it’s just me but if it’s your job to sell cars maybe you should be more familiar with the features.

@Teslarati As others have said there are nice features of CarPlay, but I honestly don't want it to take over the screen. Tesla offers a lot of great functionality integrated into their UI and CarPlay would be a step back. Add, messages, HomeKit, and maybe the hazard/police warnings to map

@Winterrose @K_leeeb This is a fact. Best example is two very smooth sheets of glass sticking together. The goal with hand scraping is to knock off the highs and create pockets for lubrication to help two surfaces glide smoothly without sticking.

fun fact i like to drop on unwilling party guests: hand scraping is still the premier way to get the absolute flattest surface better than grinding and milling, but insanely slow and looks very silly

@sama @thorstenball I find that the responses lack depth of knowledge on topics and that often the quality of the answer is not better than what you would find by searching through Google. The answers are therefore formulated from opinions on what the “Internet“ says rather than ground truth.

We are starting to test ads in ChatGPT free and Go (new $8/month option) tiers. Here are our principles. Most importantly, we will not accept money to influence the answer ChatGPT gives you, and we keep your conversations private from advertisers. It is clear to us that a lot of people want to use a lot of AI and don't want to pay, so we are are hopeful a business model like this can work. (An example of ads I like are on Instagram, where I've found stuff I like that I otherwise never would have. We will try to make ads ever more useful to users.)
OpenAI@OpenAI

In the coming weeks, we plan to start testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers. We’re sharing our principles early on how we’ll approach ads–guided by putting user trust and transparency first as we work to make AI accessible to everyone. What matters most: - Responses in ChatGPT will not be influenced by ads. - Ads are always separate and clearly labeled. - Your conversations are private from advertisers. - Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers will not have ads.

@SawyerMerritt If you bought a HW3 car with the "capability" that it never delivered, regardless of your FSD ownership vs subscription... the point stands that the car is NOT capable of what it promised. I hope they don't write off those who support his milestone goal to get to 10M subscribers.

Here are eight things that come to my mind with this announcement: 1) Getting rid of the FSD purchase option eliminates the hardware-upgrade/retrofit concern going forward for new EV sales from Tesla’s standpoint, because subscribers aren’t promised anything. 2) One of the operational milestones in Elon’s 2025 CEO Performance Award plan is 10 million FSD subscriptions - not 10 million FSD purchases. Subscriptions. 3) Investors love predictable revenue. One-time FSD purchases don’t provide that; subscriptions provide a steadier, long-term recurring revenue source. 4) Free FSD transfer will undoubtably remain in countries where FSD is not live yet. 5) The Luxe Package on the Model S/X and Cybertruck will likely go away, or at least the FSD portion, lowering those cars’ entry prices. 6) At $99 per month, buying FSD outright for $8,000 made little sense for most people, since it would take about 6 years and 7 months of monthly payments to equal that upfront price. That doesn't include the opportunity cost of what you could have done with that $8k (stocks, etc). 7) This could be my bias (and optimism) speaking, but I think this change is a positive signal for the FSD (Unsupervised) timeline. 8) In my view, it would eventually make sense for Tesla to offer different FSD subscription tiers. For example, a lower-priced “FSD Light” could replace legacy Autopilot, while full FSD (Unsupervised) would remain a higher-priced premium option. Offering an annual FSD subscription for slightly cheaper would be great too.

@NotATeslaApp I paid the $8k up front, but that gave me the mandatory (to me) $2k Ultra Red for free…so I rationalize by saying I paid $6k more out the door. No regrets.

This is a flexible 1600W Solar Panel EV charger at CES 2026. The company says it can provide about 50 miles of driving range per day. The device hooks up and folds into a roof box.
