What is the difference between cooperation, coordination & collaboration? 1) Cooperation - making sure our respective activities don't conflict; doesn't require high levels of trust, we just need to respect each other's space & activity. 2) Coordination - moving together towards a known shared outcome; requires greater trust as we rely on one another to do the work to achieve the common goal. 3) Collaboration - uniting people to create something new together that we couldn't accomplish alone; needs strong interpersonal trust. We need all three in different contexts. When it comes to leading across systems, we get the best outcomes when we invest in the strong trusting relationships that enable us to collaborate: linkedin.com/posts/efmorris…. It's that time of year when many of us are looking forward & making plans. Planning is an important part of leading change but mostly for different reasons than people think: 1) Plans are typically NOT about prediction & control. 2) Plans are much more about giving the permission/confidence/encouragement to move forward in our change endeavours 3) Plans give us psychological scaffolding to venture beyond our comfort zones 4) A flawed plan isn’t a failure — it’s a feedback mechanism. In unhealthy relationships, people only contact you when they need you. They treat your interactions as transactions that leave you feeling used. In healthy relationships, people reach out when they think of you. They’re invested in your relationship and eager to be helpful.

The parentified daughter becoming the adult with an autoimmune disease is a missing link in health. A lifetime of carrying everyone else’s burdens will always show up in the body.

My new favorite word: sonder. It's the profound awareness that every person you encounter has experienced a lifetime of hopes, fears, loves, and heartaches that you'll never know. Each moment of sonder is a reminder to appreciate how little we truly grasp about others' lives.

25 years ago, we released our Christmas EP. Thank you everyone for taking it into your heart and homes. A small gesture for friends sometimes turns into more friends. Peace on earth - no more war and hate. Love one another. ❤️🥁❤️
