I have thought alot about this recently and have come to the conclusion that tanking works in the NFL but the problem is the follow through. Andrew Luck was worth it, franchise couldn’t protect him Joe Burrow was worth it, franchise can’t protect him Baker Mayfield was worth it, but the Browns. The qb seems to be the easy part in these situations, franchises just don’t have the ability to stay to the process of building properly around them

We need a superstar at quarterback, a generational guy a Mahomes an Allen an Elway a Brady a Brees a Marino a Manning…… I’m done talking about guys like Milroe and Malik. It’s been 25 years. We need a guy who’s going to carry us to multiple winning seasons multiple playoff wins and a Super Bowl. Milroe and Malik aren’t capable…..

I do not drive anymore. Tesla Self-Driving does over 99% of my driving, and the only disengaging I do is for small nav issues and parking preferences (which I assume will get resolved in 14.3). And if they bring in Willis the over/under will stay exactly the same. So you stay put with Ewers and Miller. You draft your Quarterback in 2027. Deonte Moore Arch Manning Julian Sayin Will be waiting for you. They are all top ten guys. You cannot win too many games this year to have teams jump you in the draft. Or win to many games that make you drop out of the top 10. Start building the trenches in 2026. Draft the Quarterback in 2027 and don’t look back. #phinsup

The process of the tank didnt fail if you look at it from a wide lens. The team was able to fight for 5 wins , for a tough coach and had a great defense and clean books heading into 2021. Where the tank failed was picking the wrong QB and not hiring a good a OC. If we had gotten those two things right, kept financial discipline and kept Flores, we would look at the overall tank process differently

The emphasis on tanking that I have heard from Dolphins fans lately leads me to believe that they might be slightly overvaluing the quarterback position. It’s definitely an important move, but it’s not the only move that they have to make

@1043wqam Look at the schedule on paper for next season. Find 5 wins regardless of who is QB. No matter who is behind center, this team is jousting with the Jets and Cardinals for who is 1,2,3 in the draft in 27.

Are the Dolphins stuck in neutral?

@schadjoe I would lean toward mildly crazy. Interior line needs work (again) , need a 2nd WR to pair with Waddle, probably a rookie right tackle. No def ends other than undersized Chop, no CB depth relying on Kohou and Duck probably. Oh and the whole QB thing.
