My putting has reached a new low. My speed control is abysmal. I constantly switch. It’s embarrassing how much money I’ve dumped into grip changes and length tweaks thru the years. Brain says mallet but heart says blade. What am I missing?

Watching @TheMasters and seeing so few players long enough to go for 13 &15 now has taken away so much excitement and intrigue to the back nine. Another example of how longer isn’t always better.

@RDSBarath Its called a single plane ryan, the swing is literally on the same plane whether its a wedge or 4 iron, so the lie does not matter in this case

Hey Bryson! "Golf Physicist" here: You’re hooking it because your "home made clubs" are biasing face-to-path left before you even swing. When lie angle is too upright, it effectively tilts the clubface plane left of your intended target line (for a right-handed player). An upright lie shifts the delivered face angle left, and it also alters how the sole interacts with the turf. The heel strikes first, slowing it down relative to the toe. That differential can increase face closure rate through impact, further driving face-to-path negative. So even if your path is neutral, the face is already left. If your path is slightly in-to-out, now you’ve created a classic hook condition: face left of target, but still closed relative to path. Hope this helps you fucking dork

Right on schedule. Time to commence phase 2 (complaining about golf ball manufacturers) Truly a tradition unlike any other.

Nobody wants to hear it, but if you ACTUALLY wanted to change the skill profile to be less "one dimensional", you'd make drives go farther and make drivers less forgiving. Ironically, the ball rollback is just going to make the ability to swing fast MORE important.
Kevin Van Valkenburg@KVanValkenburg

Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley not backing down on the club's support of a rollback today, and in fact doubling down on it, saying the club believes strongly that the game of golf has become too one dimensional at the highest level.

@newstart_2024 Rogans take is legit, but it can be done without, you just have to eat the right things. Just reducing calories but eating same junk will lose weight but often the wrong weight

Bill Maher and Joe Rogan went hard on Ozempic and the idea that obesity is now officially a “disease” we can’t control. Maher’s take was sharp: just a few years ago, the consensus was that diet and exercise could handle it. Now the narrative has flipped completely — it’s a disease, you’re helpless, and the only answer is lifelong injections. The New York Times and mainstream outlets are all in, with almost zero dissent. Rogan pointed out the ugly reality: people on these drugs often lose a ton of muscle and connective tissue, not just fat. One study from Peter Attia’s patients showed that even after dropping 20 pounds, their body fat percentage actually went up because they were mostly losing lean mass. Both of them pushed back on the “no free lunch” idea. These drugs come with real side effects (serious GI issues for some), and the food industry has spent decades engineering ultra-addictive products loaded with sugar, fat, and salt. Maher’s best line: Cake was delicious in 1969 too — yet somehow people used to resist it. It’s a refreshing conversation about personal responsibility versus handing everything over to pharmaceuticals and calling it inevitable. Anyone else uneasy about how quickly “just eat less and move more” got replaced by “it’s a disease, take the shot”?

In club design, many consider lead tape a band-aid for poor design or hasty build, especially on woods where hotmelt is an option. Now, deep into golf 𝕏, I still double-take because the culture is 180, a badge of honor. Both true, I suppose. Different seats, different beats.

Really excited to play my first round today with my new counter balanced LAB DF3! Finally un torqued myself and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Lots of people asking why I switched away from the trusty blade… my club held a fitting event and I got to experience “the revealer” in person and wow was it eye opening. My Scotty was putting so much torque into my hands, causing stress, fatigue, early onset arthritis, low T, marriage issues, and much more. I’ve finally come to the light and look forward to shooting lower scores! Untorque yourself!
