(alas, i had a referral in hand all throughout the pandemic, but i contacted two places 4x each and they didn't call me back till a few weeks ago ... if you struggle to do certain kinds of tasks you KNOW it was heroic to make those calls, it sucks that nothing came of it!)

@ohmyyemilyy @SarHarSuperStar @notbeforenoon @anne_theriault I totally get being empathetic to what might be behind such anger. but I actually don't think we have to know why (or even whether it was in bad faith or not) to say the way she acted was out of line. Understanding why someone reacts poorly doesn't mean you need to excuse it.

Again, NOBODY is wrong here TA (maybe teacher- mom is certainly allowed to bring her kid to class in a pinch, and her classmates may dislike it.

@ohmyyemilyy @SarHarSuperStar @notbeforenoon @anne_theriault Expecting that level of rigidity and control over a community activity is an unreasonable tradeoff for the existence/participation of parents in society (I say this as someone who personally often prefers adults-only environments but values, you know, other humans coexisting)

The kid also wasn't causing a scene distracting from the class. Just being in the background. That distinction is the exact point of the thread

@advicepig it's less about getting credit and more about feeling successful in something, ANYthing. feels like others are being given my ideas to execute because the perception is that i can't, and the reason i can't is that i'm absolutely buried by things i have no influence over. anywayyy

my workload is really not unreasonable right now but i am so burned out i cannot do ANYthing. This entire year has been a marathon, we are at the end of it, and I've got nothin left. I'm almost unable to control my "fuck right off" vibes
