I feel sad knowing how hard it is for Pete and his family. I would love to say, "We're going to be fine. You don't need to be in politics." But I don't think we'll be fine without Pete. I really don't. I think this country is in big trouble, and we need him.

@nerdypursuit I was there! It was amazing. EVERYONE was SO PUMPED for Pete. They were chanting "Pete! Pete! Pete!" and yelling about him running for president "PRESIDENT PETE!!". It was glorious. I volunteered in Council Bluffs in 2019/2020. And Pete looks GOOD 🤩

On a policy level, Buttigieg is the only person meeting the moment. We need to update our 18th century constitution for 21st century governance. He also correctly argues that Trump’s destruction of government provides an opportunity to do things differently moving forward.

Less stupidly: Buttigieg's theme at appearances this year is that America needs constitutional reform to align policy outcomes with what voters say they want. A post-Trump update to his 2020 themes, which factors in that liberals got one swing at the "post-Trump" project and failed. "If something can’t go on forever, then it won’t. If something can’t go on forever, then it will stop. One way or the other. Reform and catastrophe. And it better be reform."
