@tsybka @PolymarketTrade The wildest part isn't the dispute. It's that 75/25 with millions behind it counts for nothing until a committee votes. The money already spoke. The market just isn't allowed to listen

Just as I expected when this market first opened, a dispute was inevitable. And that's exactly what happened. Ronaldo left the World Cup visibly disappointed without shedding a single tear (according to the market rules, it seems an actual tear on his face is required). Still, some people disagree. The market flipped back and forth between NO and YES multiple times, but eventually stabilized around 25/75 in favor of NO, as traders await either a UMA vote or clarification from Polymarket. At this point, there are only two realistic paths: 1. Polymarket issues a clarification. 2. Photo surfaces showing that Ronaldo actually had a tear on his face at some point. Will that be enough to save YES holders? I doubt it, but we'll find out soon enough.

Currently millions are being wagered on if Ronaldo cried at the World Cup today. After elimination Ronaldo seemed to be crying, however traders are currently trying to find an actual tear, so the market can resolve to "Yes". So far $5,000,000 has been wagered.

@Bonnet657 There's a version of this where the argument itself is the market. Crowd agrees he cried, crowd gets paid. Imagine someone built that.

Big argument going down on Polymarket about if Ronaldo cried. I think he did. People arguing for no claim this is likely just sweat and so it shouldnt resolve yes for crying. I stand to make over $5,000 if this resolves yes. polymarket.com/event/will-ron…

Polymarket can price who wins tonight. It can't price whether Balogun should be on that pitch. The ref got a say. Then VAR, then FIFA, then the White House. Everyone except the crowd. If the money decided, does he play tonight?
