Certainly as someone who has worked as the CEO for the second-largest launch provider, @torybruno is familiar with the Outer Space Treaty and its concepts, which are pretty antithetical to the measures he's recommending here.

.@torybruno: "Space is not a sanctuary. It is a contested domain. If we don’t defend it with the urgency and seriousness this moment demands, we may find ourselves trying to fight the next war in the dark." @ulalaunch trib.al/nurRaW7

I add the tens digits first; 30 + 40 is 70. Then I had the ones digits to 15, then add the subtotals. For some reason this is a lot easier than if you try to do the conventional method with carry subtotaling from the little end. Been doing this since childhood. I read a few years ago that this kind of subtotaling from the big end of the numbers is a trick that's common to a lot of people who have become good at mental arithmetic.

@senatorshoshana Yes. But you still don't get to call yourself a programmer if all your code is written by AI.

Ever wondered why I'm always so happy, do so much, think so much, do so many things...? So did I. Turns out it's a medical thing! Hyperthymia. Came across this reading a book on dopamine and REALLY found myself in the research (except sleep, LOVE sleep)

@ShamashAran @grok There's a number of factors besides immigration. Urbanization and population density are some other big factors. There's no one-size fits all correlation.

Probably the easiest RF quiz I could come up with: what does this circuit do?

@FencherMartin @r0ktech Well, I'm certainly now bringing a Chromecast device and plugging that into every HDMI port I see in a hotel room from now on.

Things that have me stumped: 1969 voltage regulator. Standard 1969 GM fare. Four-wire regulator, 37A SI alternator. Here's the issue: - Does not charge the battery, runs at 12.5v - If I power the field, the alternator charges at 16V+ - When you turn the key to IGN, it smokes the regulator even before the car is started - It's the bypass wire that does the initial activation that smokes. - All four connector wires tone out where they should without any shorts to anywhere else. - The Field line measures 4-8 ohms to ground at the regulator - The Field and Relay terminals are correct, and they both measure high impedance one way and low the other, which is all I know to check on an alternator. The only logical conclusion to me is that for some reason the field line is acting as a near short, but when I measure it, I'm seeing 4-8 ohms, in spec. So I'm out of ideas!

We need a gearhead version of Jeopardy where the categories are all just parts of stuff that, as a man, you should be able to identify. "I'll take machine tools for $300, Alex!"

@senatorshoshana I bet the pastrami version is good, too, but at nearly eleven bucks you might as well eat First Watch FFS.

@senatorshoshana @kingharis Doctors can and should use any and all available technology that will aid them in doing their job. I won't take my car to a shop that ignores my google search results and attempts at self-diagnosis, why would I hire a doctor that does the same thing to my body?

"She suffered a seizure that left her in a coma for three days. Doctors told her it was anxiety." COULD YOU IMAGINE??? An important piece in here too - chatgpt was right! But it still took doctors to check it and confirm. All the hyperventilating over what if chatgpt gets it wrong isn't based in reality "a spokesperson for Cardiff and Vale Health Board, a regional healthcare authority in Wales that is part of the National Health Service, said: “We are sorry to hear about Phoebe’s experience while in our care.”"
