Not only do they get to enjoy books, which they all love, but there are also many other activities. For adults as well, libraries not only provide books and all the benefits that come with reading, but other programs that promote health. In a study that examined the additional benefits of libraries, researchers found 10 different ways libraries support health on a population level including stress reduction, disaster relief, providing food and nutritional workshops, and offering programming directly benefiting health, like weight loss programs. The far-right justices occupying the Supreme Court have never been an unhoused single mother living out of their car while working a full-time job. I know that struggle firsthand. So let me be clear: Being unhoused is not a crime. Taking bribes as a SCOTUS justice is.

The SCOTUS decision on Grants Pass is inhumane and effectively makes it illegal for people without a home to exist. And it contradicts what we know how about to end homelessness. Absolutely devastating and horrific.
