I hated the proposal timing. I can’t stop thinking about how much I hate it. And that NBC called it the biggest story of the night. Hate. It. I know it’s not about me or for me and I’m happy for them and they should not care what I think but it has given me the ick.

Tip: when a person with cancer asks for privacy it’s /really/ shitty not to give it to them.

@hankgreen When my wife was diagnosed, a woman my wife volunteered with bragged about how she beat cancer with green juice and meditation. My wife ignored her and continued on with her chemo/surgery/radiation. Two years later, green juice woman died of cancer 😰

I have heard stories multiple times of people who "beat cancer naturally" but also (it turns out) they did do chemotherapy and radiation, just less than their doctors wanted. That's not beating cancer naturally, that's getting really fucking lucky.

i always love to hear a story where two lovers realized that they had been in the same place at the same time before they officially met. like oh, the world has been wanting you two to meet all this time. it's just as eager as you are, but it must wait for the right moment.
