@science_punx #2 OSU can hope for reporting parties, etc at residences, but they really can't control who goes to the bars/clubs. I have heard reports of huge crowds of students at bars/lining up to get into the bar. So, I really think the reporting thing is super unreliable and unwise.

@ramenmicrobiome @webbshasta this is where you might call up Qiagen or Zymo and ask if they have anything in the DNA extraction or clean up realm for minimizing plant DNA!

Seeking #metagenomics advice: I have wild primate fecal samples, and want to shotgun sequence them. I want to end up with bacterial DNA and parasite DNA, but minimize plant DNA reads. 1) Is this possible? 2) If so, how can I minimize plant DNA? #Microbiome #ScienceTwitter
