Just in case you thought people voted based on actual policy results: 77.7% of farmers voted for Trump in 2024.

@startkyIeorton I didn't have the discipline to do it, but someone should make a positional investment visual in Tableau for each team, by color code. Blue is a top 10 pick or a top of market contract, down to deep red is 7th round/UDFA or minimum salary player.

And also a couple second round picks in 5 years is not a huge investment, late round picks in Booker and Robinson are nothing

Dayo and Jarrett were not top of market deals they were in that second tier and that's generally worse than just paying the top guys. He thinks he's smart trying to pay an "ascending" Dayo a little less than just paying top market value for Josh Sweat etc.
David@Darnell_is_king

@startkyIeorton Poles hasn’t avoided top of DL market tho. Hes spent big money on Dayo, swear, and Jarrett. Hes also used draft capital DL like Pickens, Dexter, turner, booker, Robinson. Hes just poorly invested resources into the DL but it’s not like he’s ignored the DL room

“This was a guy I was shocked that he was still on the board," Poles said. He added, "How is he available at this point? I have no idea". - Poles after starting day 3 with first pick, trading back 12 spots and selecting Roschon Johnson

The #Bears believe they're getting a steal with sixth-round defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg out of Georgia Tech. Several of his testing numbers hit the highest mark on the Bears' internal scouting scale. My sense is the Bears have plans for him beyond that of a typical sixth-round flier and believe he was one of more gifted defensive tackles in the draft.” -@JFowlerESPN via @espn espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@MrBradThomas @geoffschwartz They had DJ Moore, had just invested a top 10 pick in Rome Odunze the year before, and they had signed Zacchaeus to be their WR3.

@m_goes_distance You're putting a lot of faith in the government making the right adjustments and the voters accepting the new status quo where a large but incomplete number of people simply no longer work.

the idea that AI replacing jobs is "dystopian" is actually cool because it exposes how arbitrary our concept of meaningful work is -humans used to work 80-hour weeks in factories -then labor laws happened -then automation showed up now we're aiming at 10-hour weeks, UBI, post work society the most natural pattern is that every generation's "dystopian" becomes the next generation's baseline hang on, this has always been how it works.

If the investments in the DL haven’t panned out, do we think it’s because Poles evaluation process isn’t necessarily the most efficient? #Bears
Kgeyedoc@Kgeyedoc

@Esox52min @usaydkoshul Poles invested HEAVILY in both lines. D-line just hasn't panned out. Sweat: trade and big $$...good not great Dayo: big $$...tbd Grady: big $$...on down slide unfortunately Dexter: 2nd round pick He's also attempted to make trades for big names.

I tried fasting once ane after 17 hours I started crying.
AZCoolRay@AZCoolRay

@GBraggsJr23 Try intermittent fasting. I didn't think I could do it...but after the first one (I usually do 48 hrs)...the become much easier. Tons of benefits health wise. Just add a bit of sea salt to your water for electrolytes.

@DarrylConrad It was really the guaranteed money in the second year. I don't know that that was necessary for either guy. Had they been one and dones, fine and understandable fliers.

Theinemen will start week 1 Jones will start before the end of the season if not week 1. Roush will have a consistent role. Muhammad will compete at CB2. Elliott will blitz in sub packages VDB could easily get a role on long passing downs Picks 1, 2, 3, 5 I see clear roles

Well idk anything about DT van den Berg so here are some notes from Brugler's Beast. -6th year senior -grew up playing rugby in South Africa until he was 10 -Thick individual -Burst off the snap with aggressive hands -relentless motor -high football character (used NIL money to buy laundromat and help people in ATL "Overall, van den Berg was a late bloomer on the football field, but his 2025 tape showed a player with NFL caliber, size traits and effort. He is attempting to be the first South African born player selected in the NFL draft."
Nicholas Moreano@NicholasMoreano

The Chicago Bears traded picks 239 and 241 to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for No. 213 in the sixth round and selected Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg.
