@hopehuma Supporting South Africans during apartheid was the right thing to do, not a lifetime exemption from immigration laws. And yes, we’re all Africans. We’re also all sovereign countries with borders, citizenship, and laws. Those aren’t contradictory ideas.

@Am_Blujay Why? Those people use private Healthcare, private schools, etc. Don't you pseudo-intellectuals understand that poor SAns don't compete with those in the suburbs for jobs and services. Why fight people who are not in your way?

Because the ANC allowed illegal foreigners to flood South Africa in big numbers, today these foreigners feel they are strong enough to fight South Africans right on our soil. Foreigners now are burning homes of South Africans and government has no plan to protect South Africans.

NEWS: Two South African nationals believed to be working for the Border Management Authority (BMA) have been detained in Swaziland for alleged corruption. According to information from the Times of Eswatini, sources within the Crown (Swazi courts) and immigration, the two were arrested with two officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Eswatini. They allegedly accepted a bribe from a Zimbabwean national identified as Bhumure Tuarai to get his passport stamped at the busy Oshoek border gate between SA-Swazilandlegitimise his stay in South Africa. The purported BMA officials allegedly crossed to Swaziland to get their accomplices to stamp the passport and come back to South Africa. And they were caught with a R100 inside the passport. It has been alleged that Zimbabweans living in Mpumalanga province find it difficult to go to Beitbridge to get their passport stamped and since then they have been using the Oshoek Border gate to commit the fraud - KZN Tonight Podcast 📸 Times of Eswatini ***There is no official comment from the BMA yet.

DG @DrTedros I respectfully disagree with your inaccurate characterisation of recent marches in South Africa. South Africa, with a population exceeding 60 million, is supported by a Defence Force of approximately 90,000 personnel and a police service of around 180,000 officers. If South Africans were truly xenophobic or Afriphobic, as you claim, the expulsion of foreign nationals would have been swift and decisive, achievable within a single day given the country’s security capacity. Yet this has not happened. I will respectfully argue that the continued presence of millions of Africans in South Africa, many of whom live, work, and integrate into communities, is clear evidence that the narrative of widespread xenophobia is exaggerated and misleading. The argument of xenophobia and Afriphobia is not grounded in empirical evidence but rather in rhetoric, noise, and gaslighting. What South Africans demand is not the rejection of fellow Africans, but the lawful and fair implementation of immigration policies. Their concerns arise from the illegal immigration crisis the country is facing, not from racial or ethnic animosity. To label these frustrations as xenophobia is to dismiss legitimate calls for accountability and order. I am engaging on this issue as a South African, drawing on my lived reality. Perhaps my perspective is too subjective, but I suppose that is the inevitable flaw of speaking from actual experience rather than enjoying the comfort of abstract theories and carefully selective data. Thank you for engaging with me on this matter. Stay blessed 🇿🇦🙏🏽
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus@DrTedros

It is profoundly heartbreaking to witness another surge of xenophobic violence in #SouthAfrica this week. Hundreds have marched on Parliament, thousands of families have been displaced, and lives have been tragically cut short. These include at least five Ethiopians killed earlier in the attacks, and five Mozambicans who died in Mossel Bay. Thousands more are now fleeing for their lives. To see South Africa turn to xenophobia is a tragic betrayal of the country's struggle for independence and freedom. African nations stood united to dismantle apartheid. Ethiopia proudly supported "Madiba," Nelson Mandela, in 1962 and issued him a passport so he could travel the continent. Other countries helped in many ways, including with political and financial support. Disagreements and grievances must be addressed by the justice system and the rule of law, never through vigilante violence and collective punishment. South Africa deserves better. Africa deserves better. Stop the hate. Protect the vulnerable. Uphold our shared humanity.

Afrika Mayibuye and March and March launch coordinated anti-illegal immigration campaign The Afrika Mayibuye Movement, led by Floyd Shivambu, and the March and March movement, headed by Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, have agreed to jointly fight undocumented immigration following bilateral talks today, 15 June. In a joint statement, the two groups said illegal immigration poses security risks and disrupts resource planning. They also accused the private sector of exploiting the situation by employing undocumented foreigners. The organisations agreed to hold public seminars, review immigration laws across all government levels, engage stakeholders, run awareness campaigns, and support peaceful actions against illegal immigration. They called on all sectors of society to unite behind solutions and to avoid delegitimising those fighting the crisis.

A Pakistani national is alleged to be in South Africa on a student visa, despite claims that he is not enrolled as a student and is instead operating a hardware business in Mafikeng. He has also been linked by some community members to the killing of activist Thato Molosankwe, although no court has found him guilty of any involvement. Critics further allege that he continues to operate freely due to alleged connections and influence within political, law enforcement, and judicial circles. These allegations remain unproven and should be investigated by the relevant authorities.

The whole continent is shocked that we do not fear our government and politicians. This is so strange to them as they are scared of their leaders. In SA, we fear no leader and we believe that the 'people shall govern' is more than just a mantra.

🚨 ATOK IS BURNING: Lawlessness, Illegal Mining, and Absolute Chaos! 🚨 The ticking time bomb in Atok has finally exploded. In a horrifying display of lawlessness, illegal miners reportedly illegal Zimbabwean nationals went on a rampage, torching multiple family homes and leaving an entire village in ashes. This catastrophic disaster sparked from a bitter, long-simmering dispute between foreign nationals and local community members. It begs the ultimate question: Who is actually benefiting from this illegal mining? These foreign nationals are hired to drive the economic sabotage of South Africa, acting as the foot soldiers for syndicates operating massive, illicit chrome mines. When you fuel an illegal shadow economy, you are playing with fire. Now, those flames are consuming our communities. The tension turned lethal when a local community member allegedly took matters into their own hands, shooting and killing a Zimbabwean national. The retaliation was swift, lawless, and brutal. A mob targeted the village, burning down homes and destroying livelihoods in a flash of vengeful violence.

South Africa has over 62 million people & an estimated 15 million illegal immigrants, yet has ONLY about 800 immigration officers that can verify a person’s legal status. What’s even more shocking is that these immigration officers don’t even have electronic devices to verify authenticity of documents.
