I love how every time one of these things comes by people are like "umm you're on this website comparing yourself to him and he's out there with his shit together." He doesn't have his shit together. He drinks constantly, has a sports betting problem, does massive amounts of stimulants, skips class, makes pledges do his homework...he's not particularly nice or social. He's just rich AF. Her? She's cute now but her lifestyle is nearly as bad, and she will start getting disillusioned after a few years of lifting up a flap to do what she increasingly thinks of as a thankless job. She too will start drinking and spending more and more time shopping for trinkets/drinking wine with the same women at high end resorts on the Gulf Coast. Their diet is atrocious, they'll talk less and less. They'll get leathery by 30. They'll stay together for the kids but mostly watch TV in separate rooms.

As Catholics we absolutely hope and pray that Charlie or any person who dies goes straight to heaven but we know we must avoid presumption. Charlie was a good man and he was seeking a deeper relationship with Christ but he was a sinner, we are all sinners. Thus let us continue to pray for Charlie, have Masses offered, pray a rosary for him. Remember “it is a holy and pious thought to pray for the dead”, (2 Maccabees 12:46)
