Jag noterar helt sanslösa reaktioner efter gårdagens votering i riksdagen. Sossarna och övriga oppositionen hävdar "kupp" och "fusk". Det är förvisso både väntat och en del i spelet, men samtidigt bör man vara lite försiktig med hur man väljer orden. Det finns inget perfekt sätt att hantera en situation som den igår. Låt oss vara klara över det. Låt oss också vara klara över att omröstningar i riksdagen ska spegla valresultatet. Det måste vara den rimliga utgångspunkten, och det är också skälet till att vi har ett kvittningssystem som kompenserar för sjukdom, tjänsteresor och så vidare. I de allra flesta fall fungerar detta utan problem, men det har funnits tillfällen då det uppstått falska majoriteter, exempelvis till följd av att någon ledamot tryckt fel. Eller, som igår, att oppositionen utnyttjar partilösa vildar för att kapa systemet och fälla regeringens förslag. Är det då rimligt att tala om "fusk" och "kupp" när regeringssidan väljer att kompensera i bänkarna för att hedra valresultatet? I så fall är det naturligtvis lika rimligt att kasta samma beskyllningar på dem som väljer att göra upp med de partilösa vildarna för att nå en falsk majoritet. Jag väljer dock att helt avstå från sådana beskyllningar. När demokratin kapas av hämndlystna och ansvarslösa individer utan respekt för konsekvenserna, så måste vi agera på det ena eller det andra sättet. Om vi gjort annorlunda, så hade uppemot 100 000 utlänningar fått svenskt medborgarskap utifrån de gamla, pinsamt låga kraven. Det vore betydligt värre än lite buller från dem som vill tillbaka till kaoset som rådde före maktskiftet.
