@ShoreUndercover I agree there should be a way to turn the camera off on non school days. It more of Moore taking money from its citizens.

Speed Camera Ticket (Wicomico County) 600 block Business Rt 50 - Salisbury, MD For the 2nd time in my life of 50 years, I got a speeding ticket and I would be a hypocrite if I posted about others and not about myself so here you go! This time, it was a speed camera in Salisbury, but here is the kicker. It is in the area on Rt 50, just past the Government Office Building, where the speed drops down to 35 MPH near the school. Here is the double kicker, I got this ticket on Memorial Day, when schools were closed. The ticket is only $40.00 because I was only going 48 mph and truth be told, the $40.00 isn’t as bad as my wife being upset with me over getting a ticket, but I disagree with the fact that you can get a ticket, on a day that schools are closed, in a area that speed is lowered because of the school. It is what it is. The camera got me, I’m accountable for my stupidness but do you agree that those speeds should be adjusted for days that schools are closed?

@ShoreUndercover They are actually turned off on the weekends (they are active only 6a - 8p Mon-Fri) but remain active when a holiday falls on a weekday.

My dad HVAC business went from $1m to $1.7m to $2.4m to ~3m revenue the past 4 years. Primarily home and small business installs, not much commercial work. Anyone got any idea what kind of exit could that get in Northern Virginia?

@drmarlonperalta I have a Casio dw-h5600 for exactly the same reasons as you. It does what I'm looking for with no subscription and doesn't look goofy as hell like most of the others...

@stuckintwoson @aliciaandrz You lack empathy which is a basic human emotion. I know which one I'd much rather be missing. And side effects have been studied but you didn't really care about that, did you? You just wanted to put someone down because you're weak

the GLP-1 discourse around weight loss is weird because I went from a lifetime of food & alcohol addiction to freedom on the lowest dose. I used to eat until I felt sick. I used to wake up on the weekends & want to start drinking immediately. all that noise is gone. so frankly I don’t care how I’m perceived. these drugs are a miracle & weight loss is the tip of the iceberg.

@aliciaandrz There’s nothing to be proud of though. If you were to quit all those habits with will and determination, it would stick. Now you are a slave to the drug and reliant on staying on it knowing you will go right back to those things without it. This is why it’s a bad thing.

@RumorsandRants @Philly_Hotdog If a bunch of neutral subject matter experts all agree it's properly called and a bunch of biased fans who don't know or understand the rules agree it was called unfairly for their team, who do you think is more likely to be correct?

Dismissing the other b/c the ball blocks the line, so you can't see it. And I studied the parallax effect in college, very familiar with it. My point is there's too much distance between the line and the ball for that to matter. We're allowed to disagree, totally fine. MLB should have a camera down the line in every stadium anyway.

@mikerice02 @Cooper19874 So in a high school game, the umpire could rule that the catcher was not making a legitimate attempt to throw the base runner out and is therefore sent back to first. College does not allow for that ruling.

@mikerice02 @Cooper19874 Interestingly, the NFHS rule for this specific case does allow for judgement: " If the pitch is a third strike and in the umpire’s judgment interference prevents a possible double play (additional outs), two may be ruled out (8-4-2g)"

@617dimare @mikerice02 Intent doesn't matter, no room for judgment: f. The batter intentionally or unintentionally interferes with the catcher’s fielding or throwing by stepping out of the batter’s box or making any other movement that hinders a defensive player’s action at home plate; NCAA 7-11-f

@HogfanChris @gif_tannen @daddutroub Not surprisingly, the umps know the rules. NCAA rule is 7-11-f PENALTY for f.—The batter is out and all runners return to their bases at the time of the pitch. Exceptions— 3) If the batter also should strike out on the play, it is a double play.

@gif_tannen @daddutroub Batter is out on strike three. Runner is free to advance. If the ump says it's better interference, it's a dead ball. Batter out. Runner goes back to first. In no way is this a double play

MLB Scoring Changes
MLB Scoring Changes@ScoringChanges·
This was very incorrectly scored a sacrifice fly, but this is NOT a sacrifice fly, because it was caught by an infielder, and the infielder was not moving back towards the outfield. This is a sacrifice fly in NCAA, not in MLB/MiLB. This was a rather annoying mistake that occurred with St. Paul finally under the MiLB banner. The scorer refused to change it, despite a lot of folks showing them the rule. This was very poor on them.

@MarcErnay @ScoringChanges @MLB Good question, I hope we get an answer since it happens so rarely. Is it just a pop out foul and advance on a tag up with no RBI awarded to the batter?

I just walked into the garage to grab a Cold Brew from the freezer. When I walked back inside, my wife asked me why I was drinking a Miller Light before noon. Whoops.

@drodvik52 @TheJFreakinC They do not have absolute immunity at the federal level, they have qualified immunity which can absolutely be suspended if the offenses are egregious enough. I would think this video is damning enough that the citizen could sue them and win for violating his 4th amendment rights.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents in Minneapolis violently detained, threatened, and arrested a U.S. citizen for one reason only, he refused to prove his citizenship. In the video, agents immediately escalate to physical force. A man stands with his hands up, repeatedly saying, “I’m not doing anything,” while agents shove him, force him against his car, and begin an illegal search. No crime. No warrant. No probable cause. An agent falsely claims, “That’s assault,” while they are actively assaulting a U.S. citizen who is complying and not resisting. Moments later, the agent admits the truth, saying, “And all we needed was your ID,” openly acknowledging this was an unlawful detention based solely on a refusal to produce identification. That is not legal. The short agent then threatens, “Don’t move or you will be fucking tased.” The man calmly responds, “I’m not moving.” The short agent escalates again, snarling, “You’re a fucking bitch, and you’re going to learn the hard way.” That is a direct threat of violence against a U.S. citizen whose hands are already behind his back. They dig through his pockets anyway, repeating, “I just asked you for an ID,” as if that excuses violating the Fourth Amendment. Then, in a moment that exposes the entire operation, the short agent announces, “He has a gun on him! Wouldn’t you look at that.” As if Minnesota is not a conceal-carry state. The man immediately responds, “A fully registered firearm. Because I’m a U.S. citizen.” The short agent casually tosses the firearm onto the car after removing the magazine, demonstrating reckless handling of a legally owned weapon. By this point, they have removed his wallet, yet, still do not check his ID, and still continue the arrest. The man states the obvious, “Unlawful arrest.” The short agent replies, “We’ll see about that.” When asked what crime he committed, the short agent deflects, saying, “We’re going to talk about that when we get in the car,” knowing full well he is on camera and cannot articulate a lawful reason. Only then do agents begin changing their story, claiming the man “reached for something.” The man immediately corrects them, he reached for his whistle. ICE agents already admitted the detention was because he refused to show ID. They did not know he was carrying a firearm until after the illegal search. Now they are retroactively inventing justification. The video contradicts every word they say. This wasn’t law enforcement. This was intimidation, retaliation, and a fishing expedition carried out by armed agents. If not carry papers, as a U.S. citizen, gets you assaulted and arrested, then this isn’t law enforcement. It’s a police state.
