We think it’s actually very clear that MPP will 100% beat x402.
x402 has been around for nearly a year now, but who is actually using it for real agentic payments?
It’s mostly fake volume.
Without a strong centralized team pushing adoption, it simply won’t work.
We’ve seen time and time again that pure decentralization and DAOs often fall short.
On the other hand @tempo already has the biggest AI companies - @OpenAI and @AnthropicAI - who own the distribution channels.
Not only that, but @stripe deeply understands what payment customers actually need.
If anyone is going to win this, it’s MPP

I think it's actually very clear that x402 will "beat" MPP.
I say "beat" just bc MPP is technically just a wrapper. I feel like x402 still needs some improvements through...
EIP-3009 limitation is a little odd for me, def did this to push out the world leader in stables, Tether
I want to see more facilitators than Coinbase, this will happen, though, with time.
Identity, privacy, or metadata isn't built into the protocol; this really limits some of the more creative use cases around what a payments protocol could enable
Credit isn't really acknowledged; most b2b global transactions + US consumer transactions happen over credit, and there isn't any way to build that on top
