Brody Bumila tells me that before drafting him 3-89, the Texas Rangers offered him "first-round money" (amount will be revealed soon) and that he will sign with them. Was committed to University of Texas. He also plans to have Tommy John in Arlington, Texas in the coming days.

With an extremely heavy heart, I pass along that Donato "Danny V" Ventura passed away last night after a 7 month battle with cancer. He was a great journalist (best in Boston School Sports history), a fantastic guy, the best husband and a great friend to so many of us. So sad🙏

He’s a great young man. Bumila has had to deal with so much this year, from scouts to media to jeers from opposing teams and fans. He has conducted and carried himself so well through it all. And he always makes time for the kids who look up to him. A very bright future awaits.
