My right of reply to the unprofessional behaviour I just saw on Arise TV. I just watched the clip on YouTube after several messages asking if I owed you something @ruffydfire, because they couldn't understand your vehemence on the topic . Your behaviour is a masterclass in assumption dressed up as commentary. I must assume it isn't personal. I am appalled and disgusted by your nauseating behaviour. More so because @The_Vimbai was right there offering you a lifeline of sense and you declined it with full confidence. I watched her shoulders drop in real time. She was desperately explaining basic logic to you and failed to get through. You could do with some humility. Even those with intellectual depth know the value of strength in humility. You argued about my situation like I had personally briefed you, confirmed I had not done what you claimed, and you pressed on regardless. Nauseating and Unprofessional. Why did you assume I had not applied to withdraw my passport? A basic instinct, journalistic or otherwise, would have had you phrase that as a question rather than a proclamation. Shall I post my withdrawal application here? Or do you imagine I woke up on a Sunday, fully unbothered, and decided to call out an embassy for sport? You may not be a professional journalist. That is fine. But you have been on television long enough to have absorbed something by proximity. You share screens with @abati1990 and Vimbai — people who understand that the position comes with responsibilities. Watch them more carefully and listen to them. You can do that and still maintain your theatrics.

Beyond roads, the Renewed Hope inspection tour flagged a critical win for urban health — the Jakara–Kwarin Gogau–Zungeru drainage corridor.
For decades, this 6.7km stretch was an open waste channel, exposing families to malaria, waterborne disease, and flood risk. Environment Commissioner Nura Mohammed Hashim confirmed that the state tried to cover it, but funding gaps stalled progress until a federal lifeline arrived.
President Tinubu approved about ₦47 billion from ecological funds — one of Kano’s biggest environmental interventions yet. Unlike the Kafin Chiri Dam project focused on food security, this is pure environmental management: closing a hazardous channel, controlling floods, and cutting public health risks in dense settlements.

Continuation Of Coup Plotters Trial; Court Watched Video Of An Investigator
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has watched the video recordings of an investigators' interview sessions with three of the six defendants being prosecuted over alleged plot to overthrow the government of president Bola Tinubu.
In the video recordings, two of the three defendants admitted being aware of the coup plot, while retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana denied knowledge of the plot.
The video tendered by the prosecution, was earlier objected to by counsel to the defendants who raised objection on its admissibility on the grounds that their clients did not make the statements voluntarily.
The defence lawyers also objected to having the recordings played in an open court when they were yet to be admitted in evidence.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik overruled them and ordered that the recordings be played, noting that it was the standard practice.
Justice Abdulmalik says she noted the objection raised by the defence team and that a trial-within-trial would be conducted to ascertain the voluntariliness or otherwise of the statements.
The retired Maj Gen. said his name first came up in connection with the alleged plot in relation to a two million naira transfer, which investigators linked to him.
He also admitted sharing via WhatsApp, a copy of the coup speech read by Joshua Dongayaro during an earlier coup in the country.
He also admitted sharing, through the same means, some messages containing anti-government rhetorics, but explained that he only forwarded the materials as received and did not edit or originated it.
He, however, denied allegations of conducting reconnaissance at the Presidential Villa, participating in efforts to raise funds, including claims of sourcing billions from a former governor.
He said Ma'aji had complained about his stalled promotion and "out of anger, he said he wants to overthrow the system."
One of the accused admitted receiving between N1.4 and N1.5million naira and participating in reconnaissance operations around the Presidential Villa, including Aguda House.
He said he took photographs of some parts of the presidential villa, including the President’s residence and surrounding terrain, and discussed possible access routes.
The investigators added that the recording was being done to ensure that the statement made by each of the defendants was voluntarily made and not under coercion, torture or promise of any favours.
They also said that the have the right to remain silent if they chose not to say anything.
Further hearing resumes on Tuesday at 11am.

However, I know that they are a regimented organization, where discipline is the watchword, and the erosion of which leaves us with men that cannot be ordered into battle. The profession is a tough one and it takes the strong, willing, and malleable citizens to fit in. The operational pressure is enormous and cannot be withstood by the fainthearted. It takes courage to go into where you know you may not come out. Thus, the unprepared who joined the military as a means employment cannot survive the rigours, and would resort to lies, blackmail and self-help as way of escape, rather than honourably leave. As an observer, I see something wrong with soldiers abandoning laid down procedures of how to channel grievances, and resorting to social media influencers. As a nation, we shouldn’t take that bait. It would destroy us. We need a strong, disciplined and professional Army. Let us not create a monster that would turn out to hunt us. The soldiers running to social media from my little findings are the few disgruntled ones who do not want to be deployed to frontlines, hence look for ways to escape through willing social media influencers/content creators. Therefore, for the few that cannot withstand the pressures of the military profession, my advice to them is, LEAVE! Do not destroy the institution. Stop playing to the gallery. And for the so-called activists and pseudo-politicians who want victory through means other than the ballot, please leave the military alone. At this juncture, I want to advise the Nigerian youths, please put on your thinking caps. Do not come out to protest against what doesn’t make sense. Face your studies, businesses and other endeavours. No one can advocate for the military. Do not allow social media influencers paid by politicians to infiltrate our military. Allow them to fight for us. Reject the call for protest against men and women who lay down their lives for us. Do not demoralize them. I stand with the Nigerian Army! Let us be wise.
