Gm Rare pepes were first put on bitcoin in 2016 to make memes with provable Provenance and hard capped supply Rare Pepe spawns from a few places, Matt furies pen made a Pepe and the internet made that Pepe famous by creating Rare Pepes - a decentralized and unintentional thing happened All of a sudden Pepe was being used not just by social media chats, all walks of life were using it Rare pepes became collectible like sports cards, but these things had a problem that they were just digital images and no ties to ownership - This was such a phenomenon in middle part of last decade creators started watermarking their pepes with phrases like DO NOT STEAL eBay was confused. Who the fuck buys these things? They stopped a nearly 100k sale on a zip folder of non - blockchain rares in 2015 Hold on before we can go on.. Enter spells of Genesis, an in real life gaming company that wanted to also make provably scarce assets for their games. They launched using Xcp and bitcoin. Then Mike made shitcoincard, goxcard and ofc the naka card aka RAREPEPE in early September 2016. It solved a real problem - how the fuck do u make these rare pepes actually rare and scarce? Up until this point all blockchain art or asset experiments were so niche no one heard of them, until some blockchain preservationists and blerkchane historians came in and started flipping the blockchains upside down in 2021 But SOG and Rare Pepe was different. They were both big projects. SOG had a marketing budget and seemingly cozied up to a lot of ICO money dropping in. SOG showed how cards and in game assets could possibly work. Rare Pepe had no budget but a loud army of creators, traders, and artists all over the world. Most importantly, they had meme makers. The head of this was Mike. This is kinda important caveat: ppl asked mike if they could make pepes as soon as he dropped them, and even a dueling “fake” pepe creation was vying to take on mikes pepes. U can read history of this on bitcoin talk (don’t have link handy) U see ppl wanted to make sog cards but they were done by an artist picked by the SOG team to carry a common theme presumably Mayb mike just wanted to make those first three cards and dip… maybe he wanted to make some more and be done. Mayb Mike had a plan the whole time, but wat happened was he opened the directory and allowed artists to submit cards and he’d add them. This was so groundbreaking cuz now mfers for the first time could actually independently create something and use the blockchain for more than speculating on icos and bitcoin clones. It was a fun and simple way to show an actual use case to people that wasn’t solving a problem that didn’t exist, like most other blockchains were doing It opened up the entire art and collectible market and nft space and helped show larva labs, superrare, known origin, Cryptokitties etc wat could be- literally - they all mention pepe as a catalyst at some point in their creation stories This was not purposely done and no VC money was injected - ppl traded these cards for dumb cheap and prolly fair to say more than half of all cards back then were given away free Rare pepes on bitcoin, were now being written about in major publications like motherboard, decrypt and vice. Pepecash was a top 100 coin on coin market in 2017. Homerpepe was the catalyst - in Jan 2018 a public auction in nyc was held and the card sold for over $30k. Reps from major auction houses, ethereum devs and anyone in attendance was blown away. They had never seen something like this. This was all done on bitcoin - hacked on bitcoin - this was a hack of a stock market style coin (Xcp) and made it into the fucking cryptoart greatest story of all time If you still reading this - I freestyle waxed this with a sleeping baby on my chest, no cobbee yet, and no chatgpt - so prolly some errors and typos - which make it danker tbh PEPEFUTURES by @MemeConscious (2017)

As predicted in our club statement, Mayor Tom Wootton, @Tom4Change has claimed the discriminatory clauses in our lease renewal were an "error". This is a lie! Beds FA, @BedsFA, spoke to the Mayor this morning and the Mayor said that if they ladies want to play football there they can write to him and ask for permission. Please also see attached the email I received from him this morning where he says they will amend the lease to not exclude women. There was no mention of this being an error. The Mayor is a liar as well as a misogynist, attempting to backtrack from his position, he should resign immediately.
