Been reflecting & looking back a lot this week on my years in front line duties on the road, it’s amazing all them incidents we put to the back of our minds.....I do miss many many aspects of the team camaraderie though. This reflects my very thankful journey with @NWAmbulance 👍🏻

A bit surreal to be sat within the panel and presenting on this main stage to all these passionate stroke clinicians today at the 2024 UK Stroke Forum Conference in Liverpool. #uksf24 #stroke #prehospital
UK Stroke Forum@UKStrokeForum

Of the 15% of eligible stroke patients, 3.9% receive a thrombectomy “A real access problem,” said Lisa Shaw at #UKSF24 who is exploring the SPEEDY pathway A realtime tool to improve rates by assessing the viability of direct-to-thrombectomy treatment in the prehospital setting.

A pleasure yesterday to present the analysis of @SSNAPaudit pre hospital stroke care data across the national population @ESOstroke. A first study of its kind in the UK. Understanding all elements of the pre hospital stroke pathway further is key to improving our stroke care 🧠🚑

Results from pre-hospital BP management in INTERACT-4 study. While overall neutral results, improvements in patients with ICH were seen. More reason to have pre-hospital brain imaging to differentiate early treatments. Paper now out. #ESOC2024

Last 90 min slot of the day is focussing on 🚑 pre hospital care but this is far from the least important for stroke 🧠 care @ESOstroke #loadsofroomtoimprove

Very interesting data (Tactics trial) shows patients are 44% more likely to receive stroke reperfusion therapy when using virtual reality headset training at PSCs. Suggestive of investment in virtual training and learning through no harm mistakes 🤔 & visual scoring @ESOstroke

@SkySportsRL fuming. You can’t advertise a NRL game then just don’t show it. You wouldn’t do that for football! We pay for a service and you change it at the last minute #fuming

@NatashaMDay So might be a slightly niche (but you are a para so might not be) but I LOVED the Surgeons Museum at the @RCSEd. It’s all pathology samples of weird and wonderful body parts. Some seriously gross but fascinating stuff.
