@Sammyjo1954 @timothy_stanley Does anyone know what happened to the tool business? Did he sell it? How much for? Lots of money maybe? It’ll be interesting to find out.

Just a reminder! Farage wants to privatise our NHS. If you don’t want to end up in £Ks in debt because you need an ambulance… don’t vote Reform.

Nigel Farage secretly accepting a FIVE MILLION POUNDS gift from a Thai-based crypto tycoon is one of the biggest political financial scandals of this or any era. Farage, for himself not the many. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

I know there is a lot of news around but can someone at the Beeb explain to me how a man they keep telling us might be the next PM getting an undisclosed donation of FIVE MILLION POUNDS from a Thai based crypto dealer (with a BS explanation about it being for lifelong security) is not even a news story when the man he wants to replace led the news for days over some glasses and Arsenal tickets?

@AlistairCarns Labour have indicated previously they want to demilitarise the UK and what better way of doing this is by prosecuting veterans. Who’d want stay in the forces let alone join the forces with this potential persecution to look forward to just for doing your job?

I’ve spent the last few days in four countries across the Middle East visiting British Forces on live operations. Our Armed Forces personnel there are working with our allies and partners on the rapidly evolving situation. That’s why I wasn’t in Westminster for yesterday’s vote on the Northern Ireland Legacy Bill. I understand why people feel strongly about this. But the crisis in the Middle East is already affecting us all and it’s ongoing. I served for 24 years. I know what it means to be asked to put your life on the line for this country, and I know what we owe the people who do. For those who served in Northern Ireland, and for their families, this is not an abstract issue. It is about truth, justice, and how we treat those who put themselves on the line for our country. My focus is clear: to make sure the process does not become the punishment, to recognise the difference in law and in fact between those who served the state under orders and those who set out to harm it, and to support veterans and their families in getting as close as possible to truth, reconciliation and justice. I will continue working with colleagues across Government, in private as much as in public, to make sure we get this right. To everyone who served in Northern Ireland, and to the wider veteran community: that commitment does not change. To those that seek to divide the veteran community, question commitment, motivations, honour or question intent, that is your right to do so. And, to those that continue to engage and seek change for justice, let’s keep doing so. We will get there.

@Keir_Starmer Where’s the cash to protect the Jewish areas? You’re quick to dole the money out for other communities after the summer riots. 😉

The antisemitic attack in Golders Green is utterly appalling. Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain. Thank you to Shomrim, Hatzola and the police for acting swiftly. Those responsible will be brought to justice.

In this session of Parliament, the @UKLabour Government has delivered: 💼The biggest upgrade in workers rights in a generation. 🏠The biggest improvement in renters rights in a generation. 👶 More action to tackle child poverty than any other government. ✅ The Youth Gaurentee. 💷 Raised the National Minimum Wage. ✂️ 📋Cut NHS waiting lists. 👮‍♂️ More police on the streets. ✂️💡Cut in energy bills. @Keir_starmer #PMQs

No, Prime Minister. You could have banned hate matches. You could have banned pro-Iranian regime groups. You could have deported disgustingly antisemitic imams. You could have cracked down on mosques spewing Jew hatred. Instead you introduced an “anti-Muslim hate” definition.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I am deeply concerned about the terrorist attack that took place today. This is not an isolated incident. It is the latest in a spate of utterly vile attacks on the Jewish community. I’ve just chaired an emergency COBR meeting and tomorrow I’ll be bringing together criminal justice agencies to ensure we have effective and swift justice.

Before the war in Iran I made clear: it is only fair that we have a windfall tax when energy companies make windfall profits, so we can help families with the cost of living. The Tories, Reform, SNP all oppose it. Only this Labour government stands up for working people.

@ReemAmirIbrahim The main cause of the low birth rate is because both partners have to work to afford somewhere to live. More demand on housing is caused primarily by high immigration. We only needed around 8-10k immigrants a year to balance out our ageing population. Like we did in the 1980s

Misleading Parliament is pretty low down the list of reasons Starmer should go. * Conducting a vendetta against our military with Keir’s best mate Hermer gleefully pursuing old soldiers. Treason. * Refusing to exploit Britain’s natural resources in pursuit of a deranged green agenda. Treason. Penalising hard-working people to give money to Labour’s benefits class. Shirkers not workers. Treason. Feel free to add your own.

Question for all socialists. You get your wish and tax the rich. In fact you take every penny from every British billionaire (£185 billion). Your UK NHS budget is £206 billion. You are £21 billion short. Next year you have no billionaires to steal from. What’s your next move?

Just throwing this one out there as I was asked this question earlier today. A couple both working with a combined income of £50,000 would pay £11,500 a year in income tax and national insurance, Another couple receiving £50,000 in benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independent Payment, Housing Benefit, Income Support and Child Benefit would pay no income tax or national insurance, keeping the full £50,000. Should the non-working couple on £50,000 a year pay the same amount of income tax and national insurance as the working couple? Please leave a comment below.

Finally, some real sentencing. Four Palestine activists have been jailed today after being convicted of criminal damage. Julian Gao, 22, of Manchester, Najam Shah, 53, of Burnley and Daniel Jones, 30, of Crosby, have each been jailed for twenty months at Bradford Crown Court after a jury previously convicted them on charges of criminal damage and possessing articles with intent to cause crimping damage. A fourth defendant, Ruby Hamill, 21, of London, was also convicted of the same offences in her absence and she is now wanted on a warrant. They used an angle-grinder to cut through the security fence at the Teledyne UK Limited premises in Shipley in the early hours of 2nd April 2024, before causing some £570,000 worth of damage to the premises. This sentence sends a message to Palestine activists who insist not only on disrupting everyone’s lives but causing damage and destruction as they go. We will be looking for the fourth criminal so that she too faces justice. examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-york…

These Palestine Action thugs were just sentenced to 20 months in PRISON. Not suspended, proper jail time. It’s good to see justice at least on this case that saw 750k damage done to a factory in Shipley 🙌
