Today was a big day! Students in both Grade 5 classes got to show their Heritage fair projects to the whole school. They’ve waited a long time to be able to do this. They did fantastic! @GearyGators

It was an outside kind of day! We started off with an Easter egg hunt in our outdoor classroom and ended by taking down some observations in our science journals. Happy Easter! @GearyGators

Students in @mrbowering45 and @carrs_mr used clues from this photo to determine what animal had been captured in our trail camera a few evenings ago. They needed to use: knowledge of NB wildlife, inference, communication and perspective during their conversations.

@mrbowering45 class is starting a project on habitats. He and Ms. Durant worked together with the students to co-construct the criteria and guide their work process over the next few weeks. Students did a great job leading each other through this lesson.@Sandra_Herbst

We have been learning how to read time off an analog clock this week, and as part of an investigation we began, we decided to place sticks into the ground and orient them so that we could read the time like a sundial! We then compared what we observed with a real clock.

This week students in Mr Bowering’s grade 4/5 class pulled the remaining vegetables out of our gardens and used some of them during their exploration time. Ss measured, asked wonder questions and dug into these garden treasures.
