@JamesMelville @AudsDisease Wrong. 2015 was the last year of normalcy in the US, outwardly.
Go back to prior to 2001 to find the world where people could be different without hate. It got worse in 2009 because different was leading us.
Since 2017, those who desire an imperial army are in power.

@gabystubbs1 @daniellismore Who's invaded women's spaces? Evidence would be good.
What is the gender of one born with genitalia genetically coded male and female?
What is the gender of one born without genitalia at all, or underdeveloped genitalia?
And the person born with male genitalia and more estrogen?
English

@daniellismore people were men or women .Within those 2 biological sexes there were graduations of gender . men did not claim they were women , however effeminate they appeared. Trans activists have used their position to invade women's private spaces and sports. That did not happen in the 70s
English

I genuinely cannot understand how generation above me ended up here. We grew up idolising David Bowie and through him discovered Lou Reed and Iggy Pop. We lived through punk and post punk smashing gender norms in public. We watched Prince blur masculinity and desire. We danced to Boy George. We worshipped Grace Jones. Then came the flamboyance of the eighties where androgyny excess and self invention were celebrated. Gender bending was not a threat. It was art. It was freedom. It was cool.
So how did the same generation become so hostile to people simply existing outside rigid boxes. How did we go from celebrating difference to fearing it. This backlash does not come from culture or history. It comes from forgetting who we were and what we stood for. None of this is new. Get over it.

English

@queenie4rmnola @gibeling This is what is misunderstood and not said enough. Classism is very different from racism.
The education of knowing the difference is severely lacking.
Education on being different is lacking.
English

Racial privilege and socio economic privilege are not the same. For instance, a white woman with no high school diploma will have a better chance that surviving in a hospital than a black woman with a college degree. Racism has a separate impact and not enduring it is a form of privilege . Poor white people often deny their privilege but are more likely to survive interactions with police, more likely to receive job offers, be approved for home loans, and less likely to endure the effects of inter generational effects of poverty. The more your research, the more you will learn that being poor and White doesn’t mean you don’t have racial privilege, it means you don’t have economic privilege.

@MikeJohnson I am extremely happy that everyone who voted against this, stood up to the GOP. They may have lost the vote but they haven't lost their moral compass, dignity, and constituents.
English

@MikeJohnson I would rather have my job, health insurance.
Job & insurance > $1500 tax return
I still have 3 years of oncology, infusion appts.

@RepJohnRose A Texas Doctor saw what was coming in 1994-1995.
Article from March 1995, Texas Monthly. "Not what the doctor ordered"

English

Remember when Obama said you could keep your doctor and your premiums would drop $2,500? He lied. And 15years later, the Democrats are lying again about “lowering healthcare costs.”
Their plan isn’t cheaper care, it’s more federal subsidies. That’s how we got $38.4 trillion in debt and a broken healthcare system.
We should NEVER deficit spend billions on Obamacare. Ever.
English

@RepJohnRose When your State Reps actually cared about their constituents.
1999 - Texas, Oregon, and Virgina sued HMOs for denial of coverage.
Beginning in 1990, Ins Cos were told to focus on profits and not on quietly paying out claims.

@RepJohnRose If married, under a spouse's Ins plan, you were dependent on him maintaining that plan.
Yes, only 13 years ago, women still had to rely on their husbands for health insurance.

English

@RepJohnRose In 2012, young women paid up to 81% more in health costs because of gender discrimination. And for all the hatemongers, this is about men vs women.
aspe.hhs.gov/reports/afford…

English

@RepJohnRose I would ask you to try and remember when your parents, grandparents dealt with this but they probably didn't. Healthcare was non-profit back then.
Oh, and this would also eliminate the coverage of that little blue pill men are so fond of.

@RepJohnRose Could you imagine as a husband/dad, your family gets sick/ hurt, the hospital saying "sorry, the insurance won't cover this".
Or getting that dream job and the company insurance plan denying coverage to your family, but you're good.

English

@RepJohnRose I remember, as mom, and not being able to get standard well baby routine visits covered. Or, my neurologist & meds for migraines covered. None of my GYN appts covered. Yet, back in 2000-2003, I was paying $450/mo for job related benefits Insurance that denied nearly all.

@RepJohnRose Imagine not having insurance to cover maternity care. That's nearly a year of Ins Co denying nearly all coverage because you're pregnant. And don't forget any health problems that pop up afterwards that can be very loosely tied to pregnancy. Ever.

English

@RepJohnRose I think the ASPE, US Department of Health and Human Services back in 2012 will disagree with you.

English

@RepJohnRose You're wrong.
You're not getting the facts from the people that matter.
Poverty & Mid Class have always had to deal with the costs of Health Ins and then get denied for nearly everything. Imagine paying $$$ every mo for Ins and they provide ZERO coverage. ACA ended that.
