There are millions or even billions of people in this world who fundamentally do not understand that children everywhere are the same. This precious child, the tens of thousands dead in Gaza—people don’t connect them to the idea of their own child being violently killed.

Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Women, Life, Freedom) is not a slogan that was born in western universities; it is a philosophy forged in Kurdish women’s struggle- in the mountains, in the prisons and the streets. It insists that no society is free if women are not free. It insists that democracy must be lived from the grounds up. It demands that national liberation should not overshadow or dismiss women’s liberation. That women are the foundation of life, and only with them can there be genuine freedom, democracy, justice and peace.

Iranians are understandably worried about arming the Kurds to resist given the spectre of the separatist movement, especially with how IRGC framed them But many are hoping the Kurds fight for Iran, perhaps they will turn out to be Irans saviours, time will tell, and we all really hope Trump has done his homework here Kurds for Iran 🙏🏻 We hope

@RoshanaMN If Kurds fight, we will be fighting for our own rights and freedom, and certainly not for installing Reza Pahlavi, whose father massacred and oppressed us just as much as the current regime.

Who are we? Let me tell you, America! We are the Kurds you betrayed in Rojava, north-east Syria, your anti-ISIS coalition partners. You sold us to Turkey in 2018, which annexed our Kurdish city of Afrin for allied jihadist factions. Then again in 2019, when our cities of Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi were handed over to Turkey for “security concerns,” even though not a single bullet from Rojava had been fired toward Turkey. And once more in 2026, when you handed us over to the former ISIS and al-Qaeda Syrian regime under the extreme hardliner al-Jolani. Thousands of us were massacred, ethnically cleansed, hunted street by street. Our women fighters were beheaded, their braids cut as war trophies by jihadist men. We are the Kurds you betrayed in Basur, northern Iraq, who held a popular referendum in 2017, winning by 92% to separate from Iraq, a country that had ethnically cleansed and murdered us for years, only for our freedom to be denied. The Iraqi central government, encouraged by your condemnation of our referendum, attacked us and forcibly took over our Kurdish city of Kirkuk. Our peshmerga forces were run over by Iraqi tanks. Even now, Iraqi forces continue forcing Kurds out of their homes, as they have since the 1960s, because the city is oil-rich. We are the same Kurds in northern Iraq whom you urged to stand up against the Saddam regime in 1991, only to abandon us when we rose up. We were massacred, and 2 million of us were displaced. You were shamed into Operation “Provide Comfort,” but only after thousands of us had already been killed following your call to rise. We are the Kurds in Bakur, western Turkey whose lives and bodies have been sacrificed because of your economic and military ties to Turkey- your NATO allies who built a jihadi corridor and openly supports ISIS, al-Qaeda and al-Nusra. We are the same Kurds in Rojhilat whom you betrayed during the 1975 Algiers Agreement. The Kurdish uprising collapsed overnight; tens of thousands were displaced. Iraqi forces launched severe reprisals—those who witnessed what had happened to our fellow Kurds in Basur and Rojava now refuse to be your foot soldiers. We know who you are, America. But it’s no wonder- despite this long and painful history of betrayal- that YOU still don’t know who we are. The oppressed carry the memory of every wound, but the oppressor forgets the scars it has inflicted.

‼️The Voice of Hind Rajab wins Silver Lion in Venice — as Hind’s mother, surrounded by Israeli tanks in Gaza City, issues a “last cry for help” Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania’s docudrama on 5-year-old Hind Rajab — killed alongside her family after hours trapped in a car under Israeli fire — won the Grand Jury Prize (Silver Lion), the festival’s second-highest honor, after premiering to a 24-minute standing ovation. Meanwhile, Hind’s mother, Wissam Hamada, has issued an urgent plea from Gaza City, where Israeli tanks surround her neighborhood as the military moves to ethnically cleanse the city of its 1 million residents. Living there with her surviving 5-year-old son, she describes the siege as “a living hell” and says: “This could be my last cry for help. I am begging every influential person, every celebrity, every connection to save me… Tanks have surrounded our neighborhood. We must leave, but we have nowhere to go… I want to live. I want to protect my family. Please save us.” Hamada has also appealed for financial support to survive. Her desperate plea and the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza City have gone unmentioned in the glowing international coverage of the film’s success.

The will of the martyred journalist Maryam Abu Daqqa to her only son, Ghaith: "Ghaith, my heart and soul… you are your mother’s everything. I want you to pray for me and not cry over me so that I can remain happy. I want you to make me proud, to become smart and successful, to stand strong, and to become a great businessman, my love. I want you, my dear, never to forget me. I used to do everything so you could be happy, comfortable, and content. When you grow up, get married, and have a daughter, name her Maryam after me. You are my beloved, my heart, my support, my soul, and my son who makes me proud. I was always happy because of your good reputation. Please, Ghaith, I entrust you: your prayers, your prayers, your prayers, my dear. Your mother, Maryam."

Deeply shocked by Israel’s deliberate killing of the Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif, his colleague Mohammed Qreiqeh and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa. Israel has now killed at least 186 journalists in the war.

This is my will and my final message. If my words reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice. First, peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you. God knows that I have given all my effort and strength to be a support and a voice for my people since I opened my eyes to life in the alleys and streets of Jabalia refugee camp. My hope was that God would grant me life to return with my family and loved ones to our original town of Ashkelon (Al-Majdal), occupied land. But God’s will was swifter, and His decree is binding. I lived pain in all its details, tasted grief and loss repeatedly, yet I never hesitated to convey the truth as it is—without distortion or falsification—hoping God would bear witness against those who remained silent, those who accepted our killing, those who besieged our breaths, and whose hearts were not moved by the shattered bodies of our children and women, nor did they stop the massacre our people have faced for more than a year and a half. I entrust you with Palestine, the jewel of the Muslim world and the pulse of every free heart in this world. I entrust you with its people, with its innocent children who were not granted the time to dream or live in safety and peace. Their pure bodies were crushed under thousands of tons of Israeli bombs and missiles, torn apart, their remains scattered on the walls. I urge you not to let chains silence you, nor borders restrain you. Be bridges toward liberating the land and the people until the sun of dignity and freedom rises over our stolen homeland. I entrust you with my family. I entrust you with the apple of my eye, my beloved daughter, Sham, whom fate did not allow me to see grow as I dreamed. I entrust you with my dear son, Salah, whom I wished to support and accompany until he grew strong, carrying my burden and continuing the mission. I entrust you with my beloved mother, whose prayers were the reason I reached where I did. Her supplications were my fortress, and her light my path. I pray God to ease her heart and reward her abundantly on my behalf. I also entrust you with my lifelong companion, my beloved wife, Umm Salah Bayan, from whom war separated us for long days and months, but who remained faithful, steadfast like an olive tree trunk that never bends, patient and devout, carrying the trust in my absence with strength and faith. I urge you to gather around them and be their support after God Almighty. If I die, I die steadfast on my principles, bearing witness to God that I am satisfied with His decree, believing in meeting Him, and certain that what is with God is better and everlasting. O God, accept me among the martyrs, forgive my past and future sins, and make my blood a light that illuminates the path to freedom for my people and family. Forgive me if I fell short, and pray for me mercy, for I have remained true to the covenant, never changing or betraying it. Do not forget Gaza… And do not forget me in your good prayers for forgiveness and acceptance. Anas Jamal Al-Sharif 06.04.2025 This is what Anas ordered to be published upon his martyrdom.

Gheed Kassem, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s lawyer, posted seven hours ago a horrific update on her Facebook accounts regarding the abducted doctor. Here is a translation: Dr. Hussam Abu Safia is not well. I visited him last on July 9, 2025. What I saw was heartbreaking. Since his detention began, he has lost more than 40 kilograms—over a third of his body weight. He entered prison weighing 100 kilograms. Today, he weighs no more than 60. On June 24, 2025, Dr. Hussam was subjected to a targeted and brutal assault. Soldiers stormed Room 1, Section 24 of Ofer Prison, where he was held, and beat him mercilessly for 30 minutes. His rib cage was struck repeatedly. He sustained severe bruises across his face, head, back, and neck. He asked for medical care—basic tests, treatment, and access to a cardiologist. He was referred, but the request was later denied. Dr. Hussam suffers from irregular heartbeat, yet even this urgent condition is being ignored. The glasses his lawyer recently provided him were also broken during the assault. He remains underground, in isolation, without sunlight. He is still wearing his winter clothes in the middle of summer, under conditions of starvation, torture, and neglect. Dr. Hussam Abu Safia is not the only one. All Palestinian prisoners are enduring the same inhumane conditions.

Written by Palestinian child Zein Abu Lebda, this song is performed as part of the “Gaza Beginnings” program by music trainers from the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Gaza. The initiative uses music to support children emotionally and mentally through war, combining creative expression with psychological relief. In this video, Zein sings his own lyrics about Gaza while Mohammed Abumhadi accompanies him on guitar. His voice carries the raw emotion of a generation growing up under a genocide and siege, using music not to escape reality, but to confront it.
