Example, I used to love backing Hayden Tinsley. I remember him saying that his favourite position was 1 out, 1 back, and he was willing to sacrifice a bit to get there. Reduces luck to a minimum. Was the most value jockey Ive ever backed.

The best jockeys are those who constantly reduce luck as a factor. Have their horse positioned on the turn so that it WILL win if its the best horse. It might look spectacular to weave through a field from last to get up, but it's not a good ride.

That hurts .... Cheerio should have won that by 4 lengths. There's always an extra amount of luck involved when you're at the back, on the inside, in a large field.
