We have been working on productive struggle in Room 307! We are learning it is ok to struggle with a problem as long as we have strategies to help us along. This came in handy while a student was taking his math test. 🤍

Kicking off opinion writing with a Reader’s Theatre! Students acted out different perspectives about “what is fair?” We looked at ways we can improve exclusion at recess. ✏️📝

Great organic learning experience happened today! A student brought in @theweekjunior to share with the class. The article on @UN Human Rights Day sparked a 45 minute conversation on diversity, tolerance, and discrimination. Their open-mindedness continues to inspire me.

Our class worked in partners to create a shopping this for their very own Thanksgiving dinner! We practiced estimating to the nearest dollar and adding decimals. Check out the menu one group came up with! 💵🦃

A lesson with @gregtangmath is a day well spent! We had fun learning about number bonds and fractions while playing engaged math games. Can’t wait to do it again.

We are currently studying types of nouns. Students conducted peer interviews to practice the different between common and proper nouns. 📝✏️💗#communicators

Mystery ball is a great way for students to review math skills, practice teamwork, and have fun! Students do not know the point values for each basket so it is a game of luck. We are ready for our unit 2 progress check! ✖️➗➕➖🖤

@CCBoeger This skill is challenging for adults so we modeled the teacher-created questions for students to expose them. This will help prepare them for writing their own key concept questions. Come visit anytime! Maybe we can co-teach :)

@mrs_olson4 Ok, lots of questions to ask here! Who wrote the questions? I want to observe one of your IB-specific lessons. Sorting with a team sounds like a great plan. This is a hard skill!
