I taught CCD in a parish that required that these hours be "out of your comfort zone." If kids were already serving the community doing something they enjoyed/were good at, it didn't count. It also didn't count if they knew the person they were helping. Just ridiculous.

I dislike that Catholic schools have a “service hour requirement” to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. I’m open to opposing arguments, but I’ve always thought that it risks leaving the kids with the impression that “I worked for this, therefore I’m owed and deserve this.”

Sorry everyone about the #MondayMeetCute challenge.. I got all scatterbrained this month - too much stress and stuff on my mind... But I ran a poll at the start of through about frequency of MMC and twice a month won out ...so we will restart in May the first and third Mondays...

@franciscanmom I remember googling "Is formula feeding a sin?" 🤦🏼♀️ Obviously it isn't but certain people definitely make you feel that way.

@mrskatiefitz I did not at all take for granted the support of the local LaLecheLeague when I needed to supplement and finally switched to formula. I realize how rare that was. But those moms really helped me and did not condemn.

This is a great article on this topic. All of my kids were exclusively formula fed and I spent too many years trying to justify my choice. They're ages 6 to 12 now and it just doesn't matter at all anymore.
