Am I at the ONLY school still in on Friday orrrrrr? Everyone seems to have already finished.

6 classes at my current school closed this week with cases, 3 classes at my new school closed this week with cases. Schools are dragging themselves to the finish line!

Another two classes gone today. 4 in two days!!

The other bubble in my year group went down today. 60 children I’ll never see again. 6 colleagues I’ll never work with again including one who, at times, got me through this year. Tough one to take!

Finally telling my class I’m leaving this afternoon. It’s an odd one…I feel like due to lockdowns and numerous bubble closures this is the class I’ve bonded with the least. Hopefully we can end the year with some really positive memories 🙏🏼

False positive from a lateral flow in our bubble. Back to school on Monday. Absolute relief!

@MissStephensY4 Exact same happened to me! Writing a message on the board about football and 3 minutes before the doors opened we were told to go home and self isolate.

It was officially COMING HOME in Year 4 this morning, but unfortunately so were we to isolate for 9 days. When will this nightmare be over 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Scratch that. Bubble burst this morning. 10 days of isolation at the worst possible time!

Absolutely exhausted and I’ve now got two consecutive parents evenings (phone calls) till 6.30pm on both nights. Send help.

Well I experienced a first today. One of my children ran over to me screaming my name on the playground. I’m expecting ‘someone’s being mean to me’ but no. She’s got a frog in her hands. A frog. Like, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO WITH THAT.

@MissNDRQT They’re interviewing for my job on Monday (I think) then we’ve got parents evening on Wednesday. I REALLY hope the news is out by then otherwise I’m going to have to lie to parents as well!

@MissNDRQT All the teachers in my school are following their classes up. I got a job on the last day of half term in an amazing school and my class still aren’t allowed to know I’m leaving 😩

Really hard day today but I forced myself to go out for my first couch to 5k run/walk. Spent the entire thing telling myself I needed to stop. This is going to be a long process 😂

Teaching is hard at the moment. I’ve had the worst week so far, but I felt my baby kick for the first time tonight and my whole mood just changed 🥰

@Miss_Jones98 Sometimes helps to teach something you’ve taught (successfully) before so you feel more confident with it. Also can’t hurt to check the school website to see if maths or English is on their development/improvement plan!

@miss_withey @MrTs_NQTs Student council- what’s your favourite joke? Did NOT see it coming and every inappropriate joke I’ve heard came to mind. Told the world’s worst knock knock joke. Interviewed at the same school this year, they didn’t ask again so I forced my jokes on them. Got the job this time!
