LOL not including the height of the set piece coach. This is also why I keep digging out Barco. He's not playing wing back or we wouldn't be going after Chavarria. We are also looking at taller midfielders. Barco was secured prior to Xabi. Plans changed.

This is blatantly in return for the Morgan Rogers deal, as Chelsea & Villa work together to bypass financial regulations. Chelsea 'overpay' for Rogers & Villa then 'buy' Garnacho for that same amount. I don’t want to hear their fans ever moan about financial rules ever again after more of this money laundering to get around the rules. A loan with obligation avoids the 45 day UEFA window.

The only sensible and tactical reply. One question did he use Vini in this same position Rogers is going to be utilised and how do you see Rogers performing there? Do you think Rogers is the best profile for that position they could have got for that amount? I don't think so. This also means players like Estevao would have to find a way to fit in this system. Lastly they had same or even a better and experienced profile last season in Felix but I guess the system failed him right??

Chelsea improved the wages on Cucurella's contract but surprisingly couldn't get him to extend the contract length. That's a first sign that he was thinking of leaving. Secondly, if we carelessly let him go into his second year, he will have one year left on his contract next summer. At this point, 90% of players would rather run it down and leave as a free agent. Sell with two years left or risk the consequence. We could easily lose £50m. That's not a good idea. If he wanted to stay, he would've agreed to an extension when Chelsea upgraded his contract.

I find the justification for moving on from Marc Cucurella quite absurd. At 28, he is squarely in his prime — peak physical condition, sharp tactical understanding, and bags of high-level experience. This is a player who has matured significantly, contributed consistently, and is part of a Spain side that looks more than capable of winning the World Cup. Replacing a proven, reliable left-back in his best years with yet another raw 20-year-old prospect is exactly why Chelsea continue to feel like outsiders for major trophies season after season. Squad building needs balance, not constant youthful experimentation at the expense of experience and stability. Cucurella still has a lot to offer at the highest level — Chelsea should be building around such players, not looking for reasons to discard them
