I published an open letter to Minister Malatsi on the Draft National AI Policy. It's received more attention than I expected and I have received TOO MANY media interview requests. I won't be reposting coverage, doing media interviews, or going on podcasts about it. This isn't about building a personal platform. The stakes are too high for that. I'm now engaging directly with the Minister's office, and I'll be participating in the policy dialogue hosted by the Wits School of Law and the Mandela Institute. That's where the real work happens, in the room, on the detail, with the people who can shape the outcome. South Africa has a narrow window to get this right. I'd rather spend it in substantive engagement than in content cycles. If you care about this, please read the draft policy yourself and please submit your comments before 10 June. The country needs more voices in that process, not more social media commentary about mine. Apologies to media outlets and journalists that have DM'd me; this is my final response to those enquiries.
