Grateful to be able to share my story on @CBSMornings about how accessible technology such as iPad, continues to enable opportunities. It is my hope that by sharing my own journey, more people are able to gain access to the communication tools they need. cbsnews.com/video/nonspeak…

@shareski Use it. No problem. Clear expectations. Close monitoring. Removal of privilege (e.g., do similar work on paper instead) or added controls if expectations breached (e.g., guided access, Apple classroom).

I'd love to hear from classroom teachers. "Is tech a problem in your classroom?" If yes, I'm assuming it's the distraction element. If no and you utilize it, please share your approach.

Everyone suffers when we cheap out on providing direct support for our most vulnerable learners. Many students with complex needs are overwhelmed and under-supported. Kids are in crisis. ⁦@Sflecce⁩, this is on you. #OntEd thespec.com/news/alarming-…

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) isn’t about erasing differences to make “one-size-fits-all” lessons and assessments. Instead, it’s about recognizing barriers, naming them, highlighting them, celebrating them, and designing for them.

Specifically, why would a class with a variety of exceptionalities have a higher class size limit than all the other classifications of class types? e.g., ASD class = max of 6, DD = 10, but mix them in one class and it can now be 16? What's the logic? #BK25" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ontario.ca/laws/regulatio…

Does anyone have the context as to why education act regulations surrounding special education class size state, "(g) on and after the 1st day of September, 1982, in a class for exceptional pupils consisting of pupils with different exceptionalities, sixteen pupils." /1

If you want to improve EQAO scores, focus on helping families rise out of poverty. Schools and teachers can work on improving instruction but other factors outside our control impact scores, too - likely even moreso than the factors within our control.

If your employer wants you to use multi-factor authentication, then I would say they need to provide you with two internet-connected devices to do it. I'm all for improved security, but since when was it ok to make my personal phone essential for accessing my work email account?
