The Edmonton Police Service is warning the public after six men were charged in connection with a coordinated scheme to defraud private vehicle sellers across Alberta, with some suspects still wanted on province-wide warrants.
Following a search warrant at a south Edmonton residence in October 2025, investigators seized nine vehicles and identified at least 13 victims. Police say the group operated in teams of two or three, secretly tampering with vehicles during test inspections and then pointing to fabricated mechanical issues, such as head gasket damage or engine oil leaks, to pressure sellers into lowering their asking prices. Suspects reportedly argued with sellers for up to two hours before finalizing fraudulent deals. The vehicles were then re-registered using forged documents, including falsified odometer readings, and used in further offences. The operation covered Edmonton, Calgary, Sherwood Park, Leduc, and Thorsby.
Constantin Dumitru, 26, Tiberius Grigore, 34, Cosmin Mustata, 26, Remus Rafaila, 32, Orlando Turcan, 24, and Florin Constantin, 39, collectively face 33 charges including mischief over $5,000, fraud over $5,000, and uttering a forged document. EPS has released photos of the outstanding suspects.

@MarkJCarney Is that so? Why do I need to use Klarna to afford my groceries? Why can't I afford to buy a home for my children? Why can't I afford to fill my gas tank without pinching pennies? Why does a pound of strawberries cost $8? Mark Carney, you are a slimy weasel.

@Jonatha15898863 @kim_gaetz He wants to utilize our own resources so we can be a rich and prosperous country. And yes, we should be sending illegals back home, fake refugees need to leave, and we need to focus on our own people who genuinely work hard to make something of themselves.

@ms_ivxx @kim_gaetz And if you think Pierre gives a shit about you, you are even more retarded
English

@Jonatha15898863 @kim_gaetz You are mistaken. Pierre is the only one who wants to cut all these taxes to make life more affordable for Canadians. He wants to stop crime and put people in jail or deport them if they do something bad to the community or people in it.

Alberta has officially raised the speed limit to 120 km/h on a 22-kilometre stretch of Highway 2 south of Leduc, marking the first time any Alberta highway has had a posted limit that high.
The pilot launched Wednesday and covers both directions of the QE II near the Leduc Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station.
If the pilot goes well, the government says it will consider expanding the limit to all rural divided highways across Alberta.
