People often say equity is equal outcomes. But equal test scores or equal representation in advanced classes in a school w/ racist policies/curricula isn't equity. If students experience racism & achieve equal outcomes, it's racism, not equity.
Leaders: If our impulse when confronted w/ the need for antiracist change is to think, "We're not ready for that," we must recognize that we're demonstrating why the change is needed. The fact that we're not ready is a sign of our leadership failures and how badly we need it.

How many thousands of children are sent to the principal's office, suspended, or referred to special education because their cultural values are not congruent with their teacher or school's cultural values?
I don't care what anyone says: current ELA curriculum is not diverse enough. It's just not. There are still TOO MANY schools that don't feature all of us. That means students are still not well-read and we're still engaging in exclusive practices. Stop it & #DisruptTexts
