It has been a busy morning so far at @EIChargers We celebrated Kindergarten and 5th grade promotion! Such a great end to the year!

Should we be teaching this? The obvious, but not necessarily correct answer, is no. So many "experts" use this as an example of poor teaching. But life is rarely that simple or obvious. Vertical algorithms are in the standards, so kids actually need to see this. Why? Decimals!

Today, @EIChargers K-5 continued to learn about sea animals. During PBL, @osumner259 they have been researching the effects of plastic on ocean life. Students used sea animals to create a diorama of an ocean view. Next week, students will create their sea animal using ♻️ plastic

I love that our @EIChargers middle school teachers work together to plan cross-curricular, engaging, fun lessons. Business, math, science, and computer sciences are all intertwined in this lesson with additional support from SS and ELA! ❤️it

I am #wpsproud of our @EIChargers! K-5 decorated pumpkins for Botanica, and our older students were given tickets to go support our youngest Chargers. I went this evening and ran into Charger pumpkins, plus a high school family. Great community connections happening at EIA!

WPS and the Wichita Art Museum come together to celebrate arts in education at this free event 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17! Enjoy free admission to the museum, student docents in the galleries, art making and WPS school performances.
