If they would just waive all of the interest and baloney charges, and have people responsibly pay back what they actually borrowed, and stop acting like a payday loan company, wouldn’t that fix the problem? Why does the government need to make money from people looking to get an education? Just give them the loans and have them pay back what they borrowed. Even if some fees get added, there’s has to be a way to make it more reasonable than to make people pay the federal government nonstop interest before ever getting to the actual balance owed. Would there even be a student loan problem if the federal government wasn’t acting like a payday loan company?
