@AP_Soccer_ FIFA playing games. Hit the US Soccer Insiders lottery a few weeks ago and had chance to buy US v Paraguay, Cat 1 for the low price of $3,200 per ticket. That was face value and my only option. Obv passed.

Something interesting is going on for the USA opening game against Paraguay. FIFA had ~ 1,668 category 1 tickets on sale during 4/15/26. There were ~ 1,599 on 4/20. On 4/22 that amount climbed to ~ 3,975. On 4/23, a day later, there were 1,399. a 2,576 difference in 24 hours. On 4/27 there were 1,305 Cat 1 tickets on sale. Now, on 5/1/26, 4 days later, there are ~ 449 Cat 1 tickets on sale. Why were category 1 ticket sales so slow leading up to this new marketed ticket release on 4/22/26, but have suddenly started selling, even though the price hasn’t changed?

@StatessideFooty @AlexiLalas Hard disagree. The Club World Cup had almost zero interest outside hardcore soccer fans. The actual World Cup is a different universe, everyone in this country and millions abroad want in.

You do know what will happen right? It was the same thing that happened during the club WC last summer. Nobody paid the freight early hoping prices would drop, and sure enough when it became evident that stadiums would be half empty, you could grab tickets on the super cheap. I bought a PSG vs. inter Miami tickets day before for less than $100. It was a good seat.

Helping the game grow is a different conversation.

As mentioned by myself and many others, the ticket prices will more than likely not drop and FIFA has been rolling out tickets in batches on a rolling basis to purposely give the sense of scarcity to influence fans to buy tickets. FIFA doesn’t hide in the latest release.

@CelticsGRD Just cancelled my season tix. Face value of my corner loge seats have gone from $125 per ticket to $200 over the last 3 years. F that.

I thought my Celtics tickets were expensive until I just looked at the yearly upgrade window…. If I want to move 2 rows in front of my current seats that will cost me $63,400 more than what I currently pay. 😳😳

@BHallWrites Probably couldn’t play at Texas but definitely good enough to play at a smaller D1 program if he wanted. Super athletic, had great touch around the rim and played hard the entire game.
