The drop in revenue was always coming, but the wider picture is bleak. Big wages, big losses, small returns. The gamble on spending hasn’t translated into performances on the pitch. Unless #htafc produce a remarkable finish to the season, a third year in L1 looks on the cards.

🚨 #nufc announce Kieran Trippier will leave at the end of the season. 150 games, four campaigns (2 in the @ChampionsLeague), a Carabao Cup winner: the signing who believed in the project. So important to #nufc recent history. 🗣 Eddie Howe: "“Kieran has been magnificent for us on and o@ the pitch. From the moment he walked through the door, he has helped to drive standards that have changed the club’s trajectory." 🗣 Ross Wilson: "‘Kieran should be so proud of the contribution he has made to Newcastle United’s progress over the last four-and-a-half years." 🚨 First of the deals David Hopkinson promised would boost #nufc commercial revenue announced this morning.... Training ground sponsorship inked with KNOX Hydrate, a drinks company. Training ground will be known as 'The Knox'. Firm take shirt sleeve sponsorship for women's, men's and Academy team. Deal could 'migrate' to new training ground. Announcement soon on that.

As reported by @ChrisDHWaugh, figure is around £6m-a-year. Likes of Arsenal etc at around £15m-a-year for their facilities so shows the distance to travel. But it's a very good first deal and feather in the cap of CEO David Hopkinson. More to come, I understand

✍️ There was a bit of speculation around Jacob Murphy after the FA agent fees list confirmed he'd updated his contract in the last year (since he's joined the squad's leadership group). NOT a contract extension though, I understand. Current deal runs to 2027.
