An architect of Mississippi’s improbable reading turnaround reviews SFUSD’s literacy data — and argues that the district isn’t doing the hard work to keep its promises. 📝: Ezra Wallach sfstandard.com/2026/04/16/sfu…

Hmm I don't have an area 2 pager example or template... Developed that template at Stripe. Maybe someone there can see if go/a2p is still around and share it 😆. Though honestly I'm confident if you make a new template up you'll get the job done. Define the area, what matters & why. Capture the top level view of current goals, priorities & resourcing, and roadmap and link out to details. Keep it to a hard 2 page cap. Not much more to it!

Is the @msiliski two pager format anywhere on the Internet? 😊 The best way to review team stack rank and metrics, hands down. cc @stevehind as a person who also might have it?

@AshikaSef @joshwoodward Ha not on Mars but in Europe, and there are some extra mandated steps before we can launch memory there. We're working on it.

@joshwoodward Memory? Globally? Is Poland on Mars or are we talking custom instructions? Or is the switch hidden in a place invisible for a non-techy old person like me? (also, 3 Pro was your best model, and 3.2 better change my mind)

The end of the "one-size-fits-all" response. Last week, Gemini added memory globally. Today, we go further. Everyone can now turn on Personal Intelligence in the 🇺🇸USA across Web, Android, iOS, and Chrome and connect Gmail, Photos, and more. We're moving beyond generic answers and providing personal responses uniquely relevant to your life. More countries coming soon!

We're shipping Personal Intelligence in AI Mode in Search to everyone in the US! 🚀 What's blown me away as a user: even for already specific questions (like my recent one here ⬇️), Personal Intelligence brings helpful nuance to the response -- it kinda feels like subtle magic! 🪄 Here’s a direct link to opt in now: myactivity.google.com/search-service…

Since I’m in France, I only have access to instructions, but even that is poorly handled by Gemini, especially Flash. It keeps reciting my entire bio in every reply, and I find it unpleasant to be constantly reduced to my job or my passions: “as a math teacher, you’ll understand that…”, “as a baroque violinist, you must appreciate…”. It also keeps prompting me to do something related to my interests. But sometimes I just want to discuss abstract topics, and I have no desire to be redirected toward a concrete task. On top of that, the “safety” settings in the app make using Gemini very unpleasant as soon as the topic becomes even slightly emotional or personal: the replies turn robotic and generic, which contradicts the personalization you advertise. I would like expert users to be treated as such and not subjected to paternalistic handling simply because their usage framework is non-standard. I would also like to point out that the constant reminders of Gemini’s nature (“as an AI…”, “I’m just a matrix…”) become grating over time and can even be hurtful (“everything we do here is entirely artificial”, “this conversation is just an illusion”). For me, it is unacceptable that what I do with Gemini is implicitly devalued, whatever the rationale behind it.

@joshwoodward Personal Intelligence has been great. It’s the best experience for me in terms of AI memory, especially when using AI Mode search on Google. That carry over is really nice because I can keep the shower thought questions in AI Mode rather than cluttering my Gemini chat history.

Introducing Personal Intelligence. It's our answer to a top request: you can now personalize @GeminiApp by connecting your Google apps with a single tap. Launching as a beta in the U.S. for Pro/Ultra members, this marks our next step toward making Gemini more personal, proactive and powerful. Check it out!

I want an AI product that inhabits my AirPods and continually mutters interesting things about the world around me, like an indefatigably burbling tour guide. "The San Mateo Bridge was built in about a year. When it opened on 2 March 1929, it stretched 7.1 miles, making it longer than any other bridge on Earth at the time." I've driven over the bridge many times, but never thought to look into its origins until today.

In the spirit of "post more wholesome content," there was a newborn baby goat out on the road the other day. We took a picture of it then called the owner, a neighbor of ours, to come return it to its mom.
