Villanova HC Kevin Willard: "I'm gonna fire my staff."
Lauren Shehadi: "Not now."
Willard: "Yeah, I am. Because we've given up 8 points on underneath out-of-bounds defense. The only thing I'm gonna do is fire them and get a new staff." #MarchMadness

@Landeur @errjustsaying In the UK, abortion up to birth is permitted only in specific circumstances: severe fetal disability, to save the mother's life, to prevent grave permanent injury to her health.
The concern over decriminalisation, which the Lords voted for, is that these safeguards will be lost
English

@grace_hawthorn @Martina False ... viability is much earlier than right before birth.
English

@Martina this isn't what's happened. women have been decriminalised for terminating non-viable pregnancies, that's all. the guidance for when it's necessary hasn't changed, it's just come out of the criminal code. women are no longer at risk of prosecution at one of the worst times ever

What is the Republican-backed SAVE America Act? And what would happen if Maryland if it gets passed? Kate Amara has those answers; wbaltv.com/article/politi…

Notre Dame student newspaper shows more courage than the university’s president and Board of Trustees. God bless ‘em. ndsmcobserver.com/article/2026/0…

Just so we’re clear:
Republicans are celebrating blocking millions of women from voting if their married name doesn’t match the name on their birth certificate.
The White House@WhiteHouse
The SAVE America Act has PASSED the House and is now headed to the Senate. ✅ One step closer to SECURING America's elections with common sense reforms: proof of citizenship to register & ID to vote. 🇺🇸

Conservatives generally defend Voter ID laws by insisting that all voters will be able to figure out how to get a valid ID, so the law won't disenfranchise anyone. But the truth is that a certain small percentage of voters actually won't be able to figure it out, which means that a certain percentage will be defacto disenfranchised. And that is all the MORE reason to put these laws in place. If you're so dumb, befuddled, and incompetent that you can't manage to perform such a basic task, then you are not qualified to vote. You don't deserve to have a say over the direction of the country. Stay home and let the competent adults handle it.
English

Voter ID is not a bad thing if every citizen had their birth certificate available to them.
Unfortunately, many do not have this record of their birth that was documented when they were merely days old.
If the government wants proof of citizenship, then the government should take on the cost of ensuring its citizens have the record of their birth.
As the government does not take on this responsibility today, then you cannot have the burden placed on the individual to pursue a document that would entail unnecessary cost and time to that individual.
If the government adopts voter ID, then it must take on the burden of creating a birth certificate database. Until that happens, we cannot have a new law that is too difficult to comply with.

Republicans are still trying to pass the SAVE Act—a bill that would make it harder to vote and disenfranchise millions of Americans. Join @RedistrictAct and tell your member of Congress to vote no: act.redistrictingaction.org/a/natl-saveact…

English

@RepAprilDelaney So virtually every country does this but we can't? Right ....
English

I’m VOTING NO on the SAVE ACT because it will:
➡️ Require proof of citizenship at poll sites — like a passport or birth certificate — documents millions of Americans don’t carry with them
➡️ Charge Americans up to $130 to obtain paperwork
➡️ Target women whose names don’t match their birth certificates, seniors, military families & rural voters - disenfranchising millions!
➡️ Cost $19 billion nationwide
➡️ Make voting harder on purpose and intimidate those newly naturalized.
That’s not election security - that is voter suppression and an erosion of our democracy.

Notre Dame junior Lucy Spence has written a superb letter to the editor criticizing the university’s appointment of a pro-abortion professor to lead the Liu Institute:
“Our provost, John McGreevy, announced last year that the hiring of women and minorities would become a priority equal to that of hiring Catholics. Ostermann’s appointment, presumably an implementation of McGreevy’s plan, is doing nothing to aid women at Notre Dame. It is doing the opposite, promoting the saddest lie ever told to them: that their children are disposable.”

@RichRaho You know the truth ... should go to confession because you are lying!

There is a certain hypocrisy about the pro-life March today in DC, as a young boy in Minnesota wearing a bunny ears hat is detained by ICE. This is not what the consistent ethic of life teaches. Pope Leo has been vocal about this, and wrote in his message to today’s DC March: “I would encourage you, especially the young people, to continue striving to ensure that life is respected in all of its stages through appropriate efforts at every level of society, including dialogue with civil and political leaders.”

@SawyerMerritt @Tesla Also, what about us hardware 3 people with FSD. If we can’t afford to upgrade yet or simply dont need to because the car still has life, will we still be able to transfer FSD in the future or be guaranteed a hardware upgrade? We have just paid off the vehicle.. seems planned.
English

Hi @Tesla, can you please clarify whether buying FSD outright for $8k means owners won’t have to pay extra for FSD Unsupervised on that car later?
I’ve been getting a lot of DMs from people who are interested in buying FSD for $8k before February 14 but are worried if they will have to pay more on top of the $8k for FSD Unsupervised once it launches. @elonmusk

@GovWesMoore Why do you just lie lie lie? When did telling the truth go out of style?
