Hanukkah is a Zionist holiday. Over 2,000 years ago, King Antiochus and his Hellenistic Empire sought to erase our identity and desecrate our homeland, Judea. The Maccabees courageously fought for their right to be Jewish in their historic homeland. Just like the Macabees, Israel is having its own Hanukkah moment right now. There is another barbaric group that is trying to strip Jews of their identity and desecrate their ancestral homeland. But this time, instead of the brave Maccabees, we have the brave Israelis and the Jews all around the world who are defending their identity and their homeland. And, like the Hanukkah miracle shows us a tiny little light can fight off a very big darkness. Chag Sameach everyone.

I was ashamed to hear the recent testimony of 3 top university presidents. In my personal opinion, it was one of the most despicable moments in the history of U.S. academia. The 3 Presidents were offered numerous opportunities to condemn racist, antisemitic, hate rhetoric and refused doing so hiding behind calls for “context.” The memories of my father’s parents, Abraham and Rachel Bourla, his brother David and his little sister Graciela, who all died in Auschwitz, came to mind. I was wondering if their deaths would have provided enough “context” to these presidents to condemn the Nazis' antisemitic propaganda. And because dehumanization of the victims makes it easier to “set your own context” and justify anything, here is a picture of Graciela Bourla, who was exterminated in the concentration camp at the age of 17. Unfortunately, no pictures of my grandparents and uncle survived. I still wonder what they looked like.

There has been an abhorrent and conspicuous absence of women’s organizations around the world unequivocally condemning the systematic rape and torture of women on October 7 by Hamas. Brutal gang rapes, sexual torture, and murder of fetuses happened- period. Where are the “BELIEVE THEM” voices? In a powerful opinion piece, the First Lady of #Israel, Michal Herzog, expressed her disappointment towards international bodies, who have remained largely silent in the wake of the mass rapes and sexual violence perpetrated by #Hamas terrorists on and since October 7th.

The antisemitism we’re seeing on college campuses is not from a grassroots movement. There is a sophisticated campaign by people who are connected to and sympathizer of Hamas, orchestrating all of this. I call on the Department of Education to investigate why these hate groups are allowed on campus.

Breaking: the @IDF released cctv footage from the Shifa Hospital with an October 7th time stamp, documenting Hamas terrorists forcibly transporting hostages (a Nepalese civilian and a Thai civilian) through the hospital.
