Our client was kind enough to send us photos from his recent trip to Seville, Spain. He can be seen here wearing his American Imperium Sport Coat — Vanguard Model. The fabric is a linen blend by American Woolen, which he told us performed wonderfully in the Spanish heat.

Summer Fabric Feature- Holland & Sherry - Summer Ascot. Our last Summer feature, but far from the least. This collection is a bright collection of bold plaids woven in a light weight worsted wool — perfect for a confident gentleman of discerning taste.

Summer Fabric Feature - Dugdale’s New Heritage Irish Linen. This is by far my favorite linen book. The heavy 12.5oz weight provides a durability that lighter weight linens lack while maintaining the cooling benefits of linen. Nothing will keep you cool quite like a linen suit.

@BLASTorBLESS Yes, sadly Aamerican Woolen Co. is one of only 4 operational wool mills in the USA and the only one left in New England. That said, it still puts out high quality fabrics that are a fraction of the price of their Italian and English competitors.

@msvendrilloco In another America, this model would still be the economy in 90% of towns. What could have been!

Just got back from a trip to American Woolen Co. in Stafford Springs, CT. I drove up there to pick up fabric for a client. It is always nice to visit a quiet little New England town, particularly one where the mill that supported it since 1853 is still humming right off of Main.

@msvendrilloco Blue has be pretty much the default since I was a child due to my eye color. The green is tempting. Think it could go well with some lighter linen pants in khaki?

Summer Fabric Feature - Holland & Sherry’s Oceania. This collection is by far one of the most colorful and vibrant in H&S’ catalog, but is still easy to pair with odd trousers. The fabric is both light weight and woven in an open weave ensuring comfort on hot and humid days.

@AgedTabasco Here is a closeup for you. It is a really nice option, greens have been coming back into menswear in force lately. It a welcome change from the “sea of blue” which characterized the 2010’s.

@Rev_Puritan The straight stitch machine on the right was made by Singer and manufactured in 1953, the blind stitch machine on the right was made by US Blind Stitch Machines Corporation in NYC. The date of manufacture is undetermined, but I believe it to be slightly older than the Singer.

We are happy to announce we have installed sewing machines in our shop. This will allow us to move a portion of our alterations work “In House”, reducing alteration turnaround time for our customers.

For over a year now my customers have had to suffer through fittings in front of a narrow single pane wall mirror. Now they can be fitted in luxury before this 1950’s beauty! Thanks to the grandson of a local Italian tailor, his grandfathers mirror is back in service.

@IliumTroy Some Overcoat models can be lengthened and will look very similar to their Edwardian ancestors, such as the Chesterfield and Raglan Models. It is the double breasted Edwardian coats that are impossible to replicate as their current incarnations are based on 30’s - 60’s designs.

@msvendrilloco Ok, I have to follow you, that’s a very nice suit and fabric! Can you do cut-away and the longer Edwardian overcoat?
