This raspy powerful singer/songwriter began in the late 1960s and hit it big in 1976. He went on to sell 75 million records, had 6 straight top 10 albums, and 16 top 40 hits including 2 #1 songs. He may be retired, but his great songs are still the same!

@DABailey62 @kalya1 @Garnet_2203 Windsor was likely an option, though I’m unsure if that airport’s runways can handle a 777.
English

@louche66 @Garnet_2203 Ebola is fluid spread. As long as you don’t kiss the infected passenger you’re fine. Precautions are just always taken.
English

@oldfshndanne @AndyC8411 @cdntrichick @Garnet_2203 Ebola doesn’t like air and doesn’t really aerosol. It’s fluid spread like HIV.
English

@AndyC8411 @cdntrichick @mtfitzpatrick @Garnet_2203 Actually, everything we thought was droplet/contact could've been aerosol driven.
Don't mask, though. You wouldn't want to get ebola debt.

@kalya1 @Garnet_2203 I would have to check on Flightradar, but if it had to make the diversion when it was already past Montreal (had to turn around), St. Pierre may have been too far away to reach safely. A flight to DET will take a fairly northerly route so the island could quickly be outside range
English

@Garnet_2203 It seems like Canada helps out the US a lot more than the reverse. (Thought, though: why not land on St.Pierre and Miquelon - French territory - if it is a French flight?)
English

@cdntrichick @Garnet_2203 Where else should it go? If it is potential infectious disease, the plane will be quarantined and the passengers screened. The unfortunate part is they will likely have only US entry paperwork (visa etc.) and potentially be unable to clear Canada Customs.
English

@Garnet_2203 This is bullshit. We should. It allow that plane to land anywhere in Canada. It’s probably already on the ground and every one of those passengers and crew should not be allowed off.
English

@CT9397 @Garnet_2203 Given the current state of the U.S. govt., the memo may not have reached officials at Charles de Gaulle. The passenger also may have come from a connecting flight. There’s no secondary screening for connecting passengers, and the origin airport may have missed the U.S. connect.
English

@Garnet_2203 The US has the right to ban passengers from certain points of origin. Why did they let that person on a US bound flight in Paris?
English

@louche66 @Garnet_2203 You’d prefer the plane just crash? Where do you think they’d have gone if Canada had said no too?
English

@SomeTOGuy @Garnet_2203 These folks will have paperwork for entering the US, not Canada, so they’ll be stuck in the airport for as long as this takes to hash out.
English

@SomeTOGuy @Garnet_2203 Planes don’t have infinite fuel. By denying entry, they effectively forced the plane to land in Canada, as there’s literally no other place close enough for them to land.
English

@beatitkooks @Karras1909 You realize Nazem Kadri exists right? He’s not Indian, but he’s proof your skin colour doesn’t dictate your talent. My niece and nephew are half-Indian and I’d be pretty pissed if they made a national team and someone shit on them over their skin colour.
English

@Karras1909 Can’t wait for 20 years from now when the Canadian Men’s Olympic Hockey team is less competitive than the random small euro countries because the top 6 will be something like:
Raju Khan Patel
Rai Patel Akshit
English

No. You have it backward.
They're wearing the Habs jersey. They're doing their dancing for the team.
They're fans. This is what it's all about. Community. They're not demanding some separate Indian team. They want to be Canadiens fans. Let's fucking go boys.

@IamSteveNagy @phillisi1174 @SarahIronside6 Temu didn’t exist but dollar stores did (and still do). That was the “analog” version of a Chinese knockoff retailer.
English

@phillisi1174 @SarahIronside6 Im certainly not denying that the problem has been around forever decades. NAFTA was passed in the early 90s. However, I dont think im on board with a generational blame game. I don't remember Temu being a thing when I was in my 20s.

I am going to need all the anti vaxxer, MAHA mommies to weigh in on why this is somehow fine, but the MMR vaccine is not.

The Trump administration has authorized the continued use of cancer-causing pesticide atrazine. Atrazine is banned in more than 60 countries.

@GubrnatorialG @espengh @profstonge More stations would also mean people get through the process faster. Since Election Day isn’t a holiday, people have to try and vote on top of work/school and you get big lines. Polls have closed with people waiting. Money spent to make voting more accessible is money well spent.
English

@GubrnatorialG @espengh @profstonge An urban or suburban (especially urban) area without adequate sidewalks is a whole different issue separate from polling places.
Distance and time are the point not an issue.
Why would votes be left for days? Each station would have less to count.

76% of black voters want voter ID
Along with 82% of Latinos and 85% of whites.
Democrats hyperventilate about "preserving democracy" while they block the single most obvious thing that preserves democracy.
