@daphnezohar @drpetetobin As a long time PR, rarely do the PRs want to leak news when there is a whole campaign organised around it. It's so frustrating and a nightmare having to scrabble round to salvage a situation.

Right so I could see a PR firm doing it for relationship w journalists. IB or company leaking to force the other party’s hand (v risky) or drive up stock (counterproductive) or bad actor legal/audit employee doing it for cash compensation. They all seem borderline unethical and some illegal. Any legit reasons to leak?

M&A rumor/leaks: “$BBIO to be acquired” (late march), “$APLS to be acquired” (early April). Neither happened yet. Now $ROIV shareholders shrug off buyout rumors. I’ve often thought about who orchestrates and benefits from these leaks. Is it the banks trying to force something? $XBI
