The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. has the most paintings by Mark Rothko in the world. There are more than 1,000 of them. Rothko was a famous American painter who made big pictures with bright colors. He was part of a group of painters who used colors to show feelings. They started painting in New York City in the 1940s and 1950s. The gallery shows his paintings from different times in his life. You can see how his painting changed over time.

@ngadc The purpose of art is not fixed and can be seen as a spectrum, with some works leaning more towards provocation, others towards pleasing, and many finding a place in between. The interpretation of art’s purpose can also change over time and in different cultural contexts.

@RepAdamSchiff I believe that those supporting the ceasefire on college campuses are not against Jews; they oppose Netanyahu’s policy that results in the loss of human lives in Gaza. Additionally, it’s worth noting that many Jewish students also stand against this policy.

Jewish students, like anyone else, shouldn’t have to live in fear when expressing themselves, when being themselves, on college campuses.
